Most sprints are 35 these days , but when alls said its an expensive sport which ever way you look at it. If I don't spend it on race entries it goes on gadgets and gear
I keep trying to hide how much I am spending so my OH doesn't realise. I don't mind paying for a well-organised event, and when you think of how much organisation goes into a triathlon it isn't surprising they are pricey
i dont think its THAT expensive...it is a bit...about 100 quid for a half is the norm...and OSB put a lot in.....need to have a chat with my coach really to see if it fits in with what he plans for me next year (yep i'm taking it that seriously)
It's not cheap but there are more expensive halfs out there. Think I'm going to wait and see what they are providing before making a decision. Might be they are giving all singing and dancing stuff as part of the half but thinking they havn't done a conpleate costing for the event and plucked the figure out of the air as exactly half the amount of the full.
Wild boar is ??60 so half the price of half the price of outlaw if it's more than ??100 then to much for me I've pushed boat out for a ??250 race so prefer to do SA's half and do a half with Pixie at Bosworth. I know it's not the same as doing a proper event but would prefer to spend money on kit ready for a comfortable (if their is such a thing??) 17hrs on 7th July
It will be interesting to see how much of a course preview it will provide.
Cotswold 113 was £75, I've poaid nealy £60 for sprints before (I know I need my head examining). There was something in 220 magazing showing Blenheim as one of the most expensive tris.
I guess its partly what I can get out of it as to if I enter. Its my first year of IM so if it will be 'useful', then I'm in.

Matt I'm thinking it will be more useful just to do the route's off your own back instead of thinking there will be anything to gain by doing the half just for the full. Still might be worth doing and a 5 week gap will be good for training.
I missed out on the full one this year- they didn't synchronise with my pay day . Not sure about the half. I live so close I do the cycle route occasionally. Loved the full last year, so thinking of doing IMUK, not sure about the split transition though. Any other IM others have done they reccomend? I am on reserve list for Outlaw but seems so popular this year could be a long shot.

and remember the silent assassian DIY half is only £4
oh, I haven't heard anything
£125 sounds like a lot though
ah well, I will be able to afford half outlaw AND full boar then
at least I won't have any accommodation or huge travel costs for the half outlaw

You know you want to Seren, and it looks like its going to be a dry day too
When Cake told me the price yesterday I was a bit surprised - it's definitely at the higher end for a half. I'm still tempted though...
Oh, and I'm doing (bronchitis permitting ) a sprint tri on Sunday - £50!
sarah - hope you are well enough for the weekend. Weather is picking up a bit at least.

According to Outlaw fb page, details are supposed to be released by Tri247 sometime today.

i bet its 4 times round the lake on the 'multi lap run'
sod that!
EDIT. they have replied to me on FB saying its not the plan to send people around the lake 4 times
Blenheim sprint was listed as the most expensive tri on a pounds per mile basis.
I'm having trouble with the concept of a half outlaw. I mean, you're either outside the law, or you're not. There's no halfway house.
hmmm.........might be up for this.
CD - perhaps it means you still live in the village not the woods but also help fight the sherif?

oh, I want to do it, but am having doubts as to whether I am capable
in a way I almost daren't say anything at tri club in case they laugh/think I am stupid.
it is ok here, feel safe from ridicule

I'm very tempted with this.
Sounds like Soupys chasing medals again
