Note for anyone running the Housedean farm to Eastbourne section who doesn't know the area: from Falmer Station, if you go under the underpass, you can pick up a cycle path on the other side which parallels the main road heading towards Lewes - that will take you to near Housedean Farm, where you'll pick up the SDW signs. (Or if you're wanting to head to Falmer station, after coming down to Housedean Farm, don't take the bridge over the road, just keep going until you reach the campus and the subway to take you to the station - it's about 1.5 miles)
Sat In a@e hoping I haven't got a stress fracture haven't been able to run since the tp100 walking is even a mission at the moment. 10 weeks is hopefully enough time to get it over it and at least make the startline. Just have to reley on cross training and fitness from last race
I hope everyone's training is giong to plan. I'm just starting to ramp things up again after the SDW50 - if they organise the 100 anything like the 50 then we're in good hands.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for accomodation in Winchester. I usually make a weekend of these events with my gf, and she drives which made things easier (and is far better at organising stuff than me - it'll be weird without her). I'll be getting the train down on the Friday, find an Italian restaurant that evening, cheap hotel, and I guess a taxi to the start on Saturday. Any advice greatly accepted. I'm not running to the start as a warm up, before anyone suggests that.
Well reminded Tiago, I need to get this sorted too, the place I stayed last year is already booked up. Let me know if you find anything decent, Worst case there's a Days Inn on the M3 that we could use.
Wherever you decide make sure you book a taxi at the same time, last year I had to ring nearly a dozen places to get one for the morning
50/50 on whether to let somebody else have my place for this. Jan/Feb off through injury has really put training back and I've lost a bit of confidence having a hard time on some long runs recently. Hopefully a good couple of weeks will get things back on track.
Booked into the King Afred pub near the train station, stayed there last year and it was very nice indeed, I'd forgotten how expensive accomodation was in Winchester though
I'm out of the 100, my knee is still not good I am hoping to have recovered enough by June to maybe be of help as a pacer but we shall see! I will be back to give SDW100 a go next year though!!!

This is my next event of any consequence that I am signed up for.
Apart from the Easter Bunny 10k that is.
Nah.
At some point I have to learn to bring the appropriate kit myself.
I can make any race look tough with my poor pacing! I could make a parkrun in summer look like Badwater!
The SDW100 should be a lot of fun, looking forward to it. 10 weeks away!
Hope it's all clear Lingster.
Boing.

Good shout, it's going to be silly O'Clock isn't it.
I was hoping for somewhere within walking distance of an appropriate eatery. I'll have a check online this afternoon I think.
Yeah lets us know as well. The place i stayed last year is fully booked only 7 weeks better get myself organised I suppose.

Ah man, bad luck. Sorry to hear that, mate. Recover strong, and the race will be there next year.
I need to sort out my pacer(s). My main man can't do it now.
Hotel booked. Not cheap, but at least it's done.
Where'd you go for Tiago?
Same here, just booked into Holiday Inn (£71), not cheap but at least I can walk to the start line.
Somewhere in the center, GKD, Winchester spa I think.
Stefkirl..is Holiday Inn defo a walk to the start? I need to sort accomodation pdq so will look at that one.
Next dilema is shoes!
Hi Dips, it's roughly 1.6 (ish) miles (looking at Google maps). Alterntively we could share a cab, couple of ££ each.
