My plan is to get the marathon out of the way before the course of my journey is mapped out - that said a copy of Be Iron Fit will be waiting for my on my iPad when I return from work.
My initial plan after I entered the marathon was to spend a month afterwards drinking and eating curry and not going anywhere near a the gym or on a road unless in a car - I can see that plan not coming into fruition at this rate.
Cheers chaps. I felt like I was the odd one out using my proper name and now the profile update tool is working I thought I would join in the the pseudonyms.

There's one thing which isn't in the report, and which I wanted to say here, and that's to thank Sossige for starting this thread. It's been so good to go through all of this with all of you. The support and encouragement here is fantastic, and I'm sure it will get me through many more IM's
Thanks SD
It has been decided that I'll do an IM every other year, but Outlaw relay is looking promising for next year
awwww thanks nursey. Bottom line is though, you did it!
This thread has been great for support & made some nice new friends from it. It has been a bit quiet of late but i think thats been down to the abundance of injuries most of us have gone through recently.
Definitely getting my mojo back now though. Helped by the inspirational achievements by you lot & my tri club chums.
Went out for a ride with a local cycle club last night (SD don't dob me in!) good fund and think it will help me speed up. So this year I'm going to be sociable instead of noddy no mates in an attempt to speed up.
Yesterday was my big IMKY prep race, Ironman 70.3 Muncie. I did this half Ironman last year but it was shortened to about an Olympic as the heat index was about 43C. So yesterday would be my first time seeing the whole course. I didn't really have a set goal, except I wanted to PR. I also knew the bike was going to be flat and fast so I was expecting to push the pace and see how I felt.
Not to bore you with all the details, but had a good swim, then after about 2 hours on the bike, I realized I could snag a sub-3 hours 56 mile bike split so I pushed it on the way back toward T-2. That was the first highlight of the day. I did, however, pay for that a bit later when I walked a good bit of the last few miles of the half-marathon.
But that was soon forgotten when I crossed the line and realized I had PR'd by 2:07. That's not two minutes seven seconds but rather two hours and seven minutes. I do believe I shall call the day a success!
And Andy that's great going mate, you'll blast the IM ride in 3 weeks.
I just did 12 mile bike, first time in two weeks. I can still feel my knee and it twinged a bit, but no pain and no stiffness (yet, at least). A longer ride on Wednesday.
So, what does a wannabe Ironman do on the hottest day of the year? Decorates his son's bedroom. I hate decorating.

A bunch of the trianglia ladies regularly go on their own group rides. Drop Phillipa an email
Swam 4k OW in 90 minutes today, chuffed with that (considering a year ago I was celebrating swimming 100m front crawl without having to stop).
Well done mate.

IY !!! wow!!!
Well done IY. I remember that being cut to an Olympic last year. Time flys.
Knocked out my first century ride of the year today in just over 6 hours. Did it non stop, didnt even stop for a pee. Well happy. 16.2mph average

IY, top job!

Doggie, didn't stop to pee or didn't need to pee? Big difference haha
Didnt need or stop
Good news on the knee Tim, take it easy and it will be tip top in a few weeks
You need to drink more Doggie. On a century you should at least be thinking about a pee.
