Maybe a small problem with bikes on the train - they have to go 'Registered Baggage' and their policy on that is;
We will forward your baggage on the next available departure, space permitting. It may not travel on the same train as you but we guarantee that your baggage will be available to collect at your Eurostar destination within 24 hours of registration.
Which means it may get to Paris 24 hours after we do! For those near London, you could send it the day before and collect in Paris but not sure about policy on the Paris to Nice leg.
It was a nice idea, but may be a little complicated!
In the states it's the done thing to drop the bike off at a LBS and have it delivered to the race all built up. There must be someone doing that in the south at least ?
for a second i thought we'd convinced you to bring your bike along!
It doesn't matter if she brings her bike or not.... doesn't mean she'd use to for the IM, she'd just borrow one that doesn't fit to make it more interesting

Bike boxes - over 85cm - would also have to go as Registered Baggage too.
Hmmm. Might be better to keep it simple with us lot!
Having heard horror stories about bikes on French trains I was wondering if this was a sensible option!!
Oh. That's that idea out then. What about hiring a van and tanking it down together. A bit like a stag/hen do?
(That's a really stoopid idea isn't it?)
Cougie - there are several companies that do that for about £150 a go. Cheaper to fly with your bike
Where's the thread for the hotel for this, I canno find it! It's gone .. poof!
....looking for it purely for the supporting capacity option .. year off for me
Tis here
Year off indeed!?? But I suppose you are getting old now
Ta muchly.
Getting? There already!!
Looking forward to this, will need advice from Holly on how to last the day whilst keeping regularly hydrated.

Ignore me. Talking shit as usual.
Oi, don't start, otherwise we'll all be starting LEJOG from Nice next year or something!
Pingu,
Not sure if you checked the thread, there are instructions to email ISB (dont just add yourself to thread).
Ive not checked whether you added your name, just mentioning.
Ah, no I hadn't, will email ISB, thanks.

Funny, Barley, that's what I posted and deleted cos I thought she'd have read the first post on ISB's thread.
Mouse, I like that you had faith in me, by alas attention to detail is not my strongest point!

Now there's an idea....
Hmmmmmmm...... *Pokes head in and takes a look around*
*pulls trap door lever*
Another one snared, 'grab his credit card'
Mmmmmm.... gonna need a bigger map!
and less water proof clothing!
Ferry to Caen... Then it's just 10 or so days cycling..
I thought Caen was inland or did the RAF bomb it so much its now on the coast?
It is inland but is close enough to the coast that there are links to the sea (a bit like Newcastle) the ferry runs from Portsmouth
