My sock is in a poor state, had a week off training last week due to a chesty cough and cold (and lazyness), I missed swiming yesterday morning and today, I willbe attending a track sesion with Cov tri tonight to get that sock more socklike again
Bit of a cure i think 40 mins really hard tempo run with The Ramones blasting in my ears in the rain seems to have perked me up sat in work now with a big bucket of coffee trying to stay awake as i had vitually no sleep last night
Morning all. I'm stuffing my sock later. Got a group exercise class (signed up for a 12 week programme) which may kill me, seeing as the guy that is taking it destroyed me after a mere 15 mins during a ViPR class, and the class tonight is an hour, EEEEK. I'm also doing a Body Balance class 20 mins after it, so I may need to be carried to work tomorrow.
It will all be worth it in the end! Oh and if someone is going round buying swimming pools for folk, count me in. You'll need to buy me a nice house with a big enough garden to fit the pool into too though. Thanks very much
Nah .. just taking the impact out of running and am supplementing using the crosstrainer and the climber whatsit , makes for a good 'run' session and then a load of weights and core stuff
well my sock got the shit kicked out of it today.....went to 1st group exercise class in a 12 wk programme, and we did circuits. OH MY GOD THAT HURT. Needless to say i had to take my name off the list for Body Balance afterwards, could not have managed both tonight, lol. It was all I could do not to vom at one point. I can lift my arms, but not sure i could wave a flag about right now!!! Ach well, no pain no gain, as some sadistic ******* once said....
Meldy, also impressed with your motivation in the gym, if I get on a machine 10 minutes feels like an hour and I bail out. 6 mile run for me this morning, spin and swim last night, more tonight and a bit of a rest tomorrow so I can pretend I'm tapering for Sunday. Lee, sorry, the bad news is today will feel worse.....
I dont mind it so much, plug into my music and off I go, I dont have a very good running form which is something I am working on and actually these machines *make* you work in the right way so this should have a benefit at some stage That said, its tomorrow which is an after work session and not today, today I will be lucky to stay awake past lunchtime. I hate earlies
Morning all, I feel surprisingly okay after yesterday, only a slightly niggly lower back, but I can feel it only because my core is still pretty week, so my back does more than it should when the core tires out. I think the squat challenge has helped, otherwise i'd probably feel much worse today!!! Today's a rest day (other than squat challenge) so i'm pleased about that, lol
I've started using the cross-trainer too, and I quite like it. Almost prefer it to the treadmill now, which I never thought i'd say. Be good if it improved my running form, which is pretty poor at the mo

RBM - hot toddies make a good darning needle.
RBM, hope it is a cure.

2 hours in the gym for me ...job done
HC, yes please !!
Track session, 4 x 7 min efforts, and a good dousing in rain. Can I order a pool for Christmas too?
If I had a pool, maybe I'd swim more. I did find that in hotels; so much easier to wander downstairs to the pool that get up, drive to pool, etc.
Hour's turbo tonight, just a leg stretcher before opening a can of hurt later in the week.
i swam yesterday -first time for a month 1200m
I did bastard turbo intervals today. I was carp
What's in the can Cat?
99% pain, 1% glory.
Oooh, nice.
1600m swim Sunday , 13.3 mile run Monday , 3 steady hrs (47 miles) on the bike yesterday and first session at COLT running club tonight...
tomorrow might be a day of soreness ...

Spin spun. I went with the intention of taking it easy hahahahahahahahahahaha. That worked out well
Take a flag with you Lee, if you can lift your arms to wave it, you're not working hard enough
I'll take a flag only if it weighs an ounce. I probably won't be able to lift anything heavier
I've booked a spin class on Friday, can't wait. I LOVE spin
I love spin too and I managed to get on my bike today too
1 hr swim and 2hrs in the gym for me ... back to work in the morning with good intentions at the moment of a session after work !
You Meldy are a freaking machine! Awesome!
10km tonight 2 mins off PB more work to do.

Nice one Melds

Good effort LtP!
I'm with Kate on th gym thing. Travelling next week, which means some jiggery-pokery of schedules and probably a hotel gym bike at some point

Kate/Cat the monotony of gym work helps when you are at mile 80+ on the bike
Tis true oh saintly one.
Wait until tomorrow Lee. Love DOMS. Hehehe
I got beasted by the PT this morning. Think I'm in the plateau between improvements which is so frustrating but at least I a) went and b) stayed
Im taking my sock for its first sports massage in months.
Your dedication to training is awesome and inspiring Melds. Either that or your mentor has got a fucking big stick
He wouldn't know where he left his stick ... I am setting an example ;-D
Hmmm, you might be right - every time i get up from my desk to head to the printer etc., i'm feeling stiffer....
Yeah Meldy you really do set a good example training wise!!
