I saw that they have released a few more, thinking of entering after the LCW depending on how I hold together! Not sure if 1 week before will be too late though?
Crooky - Sorry to hear about your accident, hopefully like others say your recovery goes well and you are not out for too long, fitness wise you won't lose massive amounts.
Many thanks for all the well wishes, I am back at the hospital on Wednesday for them to change the dressing and check the wound so hopefully will be feeling a bit better by then.
SA bike is still in spare room but the guys from colt said it looks ok, I think I might have got lucky on that front.
using crutches it taking a bit of getting used to hopefully it will be the last time I need them.
Crooky - sorry to hear about the crash - hopefully they will give you the all clear on Wednesday and you will be back on it asap. I just had an accident in my trousers when I received my race number and instructions - gulp!!! Number 1793
2 laps of the bike route today from home - 116 miles - got to 112 in 7h 15m - so hope to be quicker on the day as I had to stop at lights / junctions etc....no more long ones for me now.

That's a great time mate
you will be faster on the day, no lights and the support you get is amazing
Infor for Bolton ironman route . A6 preston road whittle le woods is being resurfaced as we speak. They are giving a a cheap cover with tar and stone. At least is not as bumpy .
Silly question time: on the run we get a different coloured band to show how many loops ran, so how does this work with the bike?
Not that I will go around 3 times!! but people could ride really slow and only do one lap! are there timing matts to ensure you go around twice? Do you get a band after 1 loop?
Sue 9sqrun dont look for the funny statue, if you see that you have gone too far, that is at the front of the reebok we will come to T2 from behind the stadium

when it sells out, it did close ages ago and then reopen when they released some more spaces

Crooky, how is the bike after your accident? Will it take longer to mend than you?

9sqrun - there's timing mats at certain points on the bike to stop the cheats and to provide time check points for your supporters.
You don't get a band at the end of the first lap.
Thanks SS - so long as the exit to the Reebok (or whatever it is called) is marked up I should finish the bike by nightfall!!!!
Just look for the funny statue with pictures of "famous Bolton players" on it and you're on the right track - sorry Crooky
