Mojo lost again this week I've done 1 1/2hrs on the bike on Tuesday and I did 1 hours swim with the Tri club last night. Not quite the 8 hrs my plan had down for me this week. I've realised I've been training pretty solidly for the last 7 months and am pretty darn tired. I'm feeling better today than I have all week so I'm hoping Sunday will go well. SteadyCJ I'll be in black shorts and a tour de broads jersey on a white trek with trek in purple. I don't think we stand a chance of spotting each other in the crowds but I will keep my eyes out. Hope you have a great ride and we can compare notes next week. I need to keep on keeping on though as the Vit is getting close!
Registered now,so it is happening. I will get round but I expect the last 30 miles to be tough part. Hoping that the rain stays away for as long as possible.
I am taking marmite sandwiches for recovery purposes along with chocolate milkshake drink.
I had honey sandwich ready for the end when I did the London marathon years ago.
I keep telling myself it is just a very long bike ride with other people. Otherwise the nerves kick in way too much and I just go round in circles achieving nothing.
Well done Steady I think I'm still drying out 6hrs 6 mins for me inc stops so very happy bear today. I even met my bikes twin and apparently there are only 3 in the country and now 2 of them have met. That's was SUCH GOOD FUN, I will just have to enter for next year and have a crack at the hills too. Newlands nearly killed me yesterday and introduced me to a whole world of cramps that I didn't know existed!
Oh and drumstick squishes, best sweets ever! But who can eat granola on a sportive?
I have not tried the sweets yet. I woke up had breakfast then went back to bed until 12.30. Feel so much better for having a very lazy day to recover, although the sore muscles are kicking in now.
Well done Steady for getting in! How about you MC? What about ButterCup?
There are still places left for non-registered people, when do these go on sale and is it on Outlaw website cos I can't see where...
I've been bit quiet cos things are not going my way atm. No training atm. I've gone back to play volleyball which will be good for general fitness but running is still a no no. I've been also looking into the psoas muscle etc and it looks like I'm going to give biking a miss until I get it sorted. However, we did a fitness test before last Monday's vb training and towards the end of the session, my back went. Cue 3 days of not being able to walk properly. Usually this goes in about 3 days but because of my other issues, my hip and buttock muscles tightened up as well and my back is still achy now. So lot of stretching and whatever core exercises I can do. Going on holiday to home country next week and can't wait.
Good luck training everyone! And please stay injury free!
Mikasa, I know of a sportive down your neck of the woods, a charity ride for Frimley Hospital. I can send you a link if interested it is in September 33 or 50 miles. Enjoy your holidays.
Ali sorry no idea just hope your recoving ok and stuff.
Afraid I've got some good/bad news for pixie Sarah's been poorly and while she's a lot better it's looking like she's going to be poorly for at least this week. We've heard back about birmingham stuff and that's ongoing but looking like I'm not going to be able to get the time to do the boar. It's a shame both because want to do the race and also means not really going to get any sort of A race this year but needs must.

VEGEMITE! had a wee ride out to SuperCaz's and home again - was sunny and very windy. Hope the rain holds off for you Steady!
Nearly ready, have enjoyed having the house to myself all day. Breakfast bars/fuel now made.
Getting excited after watching the womens race on the telly.
Well that was a day and a half. 100 miles reduced to 86 due to the extreme weather. I finished in just under 8 hours. Very tired but happy.
Brilliant cj well done for getting out there and doing it.
Fab! I was watching in awe (On tv of course, not in person!)
Congrats CJ that's so awesome and inspiring!
As I have been told more than once, there are no hills in Surrey that you can't walk up.
zzzzZ

Top work ladies! Awesome effort with the slightly dodgy weather!

Steady best recovery is a large bowl of icecream/glass of wine and a bath of readox. Tried and tested.
Well done steady and ali!
Waiting impatiently for outlaw half to open so I can enter then get on with the day.
No outlaw half for me next year as I'll be on holiday in the states, which will be fantastic but I am sad to missing it.
I am in for Outlaw Half next year, yippee.

General entries for Outlaw Half open tomorrow.
I have a question please oh knowledgeable peeps.
Newlands hill, versus Rutland ripple, comparable or is one worse than the other?
Newlands nearly killed me yesterday and I'm still cramping from it!
