I also have a full marathon spot available for transfer if anyone is after 1, injured and no way I'm going to make the race. Email me (mburnby@hotmail.co.uk) for more details of you're interested. Thanks
A friend of mine has dropped out so I have a spare double room with breakfast in the superb Novotel City. It is about a steady 20 min walk to the start line and just 2 mins from the metro stop which is 10 mins from downtown amsterdam or 15 from Schipol.
It is booked for the Friday and Saturday night if anyone is interested.
I have registered the race, but I'll pull out of the race as I have to move back to Japan's office of my company... Please contanct if you are interested.
I didn't know there was a pace team for Amsterdam. Is it too late to sign up do you know? Rest for me I have an insect bite on my leg which is infected . Hoping it clears up in time!
I reckon that Leidseplein would be a pretty good place to meet up. It's not far from the finish and there are a few bars around there. If I remember correctly, there is an Irish bar and a place that plays rock music as well.

A bit late but just stumbled upon this thread. I have entered the AMS marathon and this will be my second. Coming to the end of the P&D 18/55 plan.
I've signed up for the 3:30 pacing team (but not quite sure why you would need to sign up).
Looking forward to it!
I believe they will probably email you details on where to meet up and may give you a brief of the pace strategy (maybe start slow and catch during the race, maybe stick to the time pace from the beginning, etc)....
I still have not received the email yet
18/55 plan looks nice...it is an aggressive (for me) last week of training....but this is me...
Keith, yes it is not far...Less than 4K...We could do a recovery run after the marathon and head there.
Might not bother with that! I'm doing the half so will be drinking a bit later. We start at 13.30 , Should be boozing in Leidseplein by 4.30 - 5 with some luck
Cheers LloydR, i was looking for a UK runner because "Exchange of the bib number and chip should be arranged on your own" in addition to that I'm hoping to fly in Sunday AM!!
My form says you need to collect your number etc when you get to Amsterdam. So the person whose place you take will just have the letter you need to show on collection

Available. Fractured my knee last week. So that's me out for 8 weeks.

Hi, I'm going to do the half this year. Looking forward to it, last year was great. Are there any plans afoot to meet up for a beer or two afterwards?
Would also like to know whether anyone is organising a get together after race.....
Did my last long(ish) run this Saturday; now tapering and carb loading....
An after race get together sounds great. I don't know Amsterdam at all but would be keen to meet up.
Only managed 13 miles today, but at a little quicker at marathon pace. Feeling a little more confident now.
Hi. Does anyone have a half Marathon bib that they might be able to sell me?
Does anyone there last year remember whether there were showers in the Sporthalle for afterwards?
Yes there are showers. MIXED showers in fact!
fartlek for me today.....
putting my travel/race kit check list together....
are you guys meeting up before the race? Has anyone signed up for the RunnersWorld PaceTeam?
Mixed showers sounds different!

Uluru, I think you can still sign up here: http://www.runnersweb.nl/Runners-World/Pacing-Team-TCS-Amsterdam-Marathon-2014-English.htm#

10-miler done today and now only recovery run tomorrow, 6mi race pace Tuesday and a 30min easy pace on Thu for me.....
Hoping for a quiet and calm week.....Start to manage the anxiety now....
Does anybody have a marathon place that's not being used? i fancy a trip to AMS.
I know transfer is open until the 18th.
Cheers Tom
Tom - Check the link below. Some comments at the bottom are from people with spare places.

That letter was also sent by email, so simply forwarding the email should do the trick. Is anyone up for a pint in Leidseplein Sunday evening?
Anyone know if:
1. There is a 3hr pacing group
2. People are banned from wearing headphones (I know it's wrong, but is it against regulations)
at the Amsterdam Marathon 2014?
Yes, there is a 3hr pacing team:
http://www.tcsamsterdammarathon.nl/en/pacing-team-2/
Can't see anything in the regulations about headphones although it says you can't bring your pet budgie.
Article 8
Bringing along objects like prams/strollers, banners etc. and pets is not permitted.
Funny, I can't see the 3hr pacing group, just 3.15 upwards.

Best bit starts tomorrow: carb loading!!!
Really looking forward to it. Hard work done. Conditions look ideal for Sunday.
Good luck everyone.
