Dustin, about 2/3 labour so a labour controlled council, 2 out of 3 MPs in the borough are labour as well but as Muttley states the government of nasty scumbags and their ideological dismantling of society is more relevant. I find it interesting that one of the reasons being put forward for leaving the EU is that we keep getting overruled on human rights issues. That tells you what kind of future there will be if the outers get there way.
Booktrunk - I feel your pain. I have abandoned all dignity (not that I had much anyway) and have resorted to shameless grovelling and emotional blackmail. It seems to be working so far, so I'll repeat it ad infinitum until the pester power breaks them, or I end up with no friends.
It's a got to be done once thing for me, partially as well because my dad never manged to run it. He ran about 3 marathons in the 80's and got into london but got injured and never ran long distances again, and even though he's now 70 he watches London and mutters about how he could do it, and you can see he wants it.. So it's more getting us over the line to say job done, even if it wasn't quite the way he planned, but we as a family got over the line
For me, the London Marathon is THE marathon, and for most first-timers, it is THE marathon. The rest of them are just long runs in shady backwaters or foreign climes...
I've watched it on the tellyvisualmodule since I was a kid. I lived in London for many years, but never went to see it i person (idiot), and I know the landmarks well. I don't know Manchester. Or Bath. Or Bournemouth. Or many of the others.
Brighton & Edinburgh might have been an option, though, I know them well.
I understand there is an emotional attachment to London, but It is the emotional attachment that I don't get. At least neither of you are emotionally attached to your soon to be ex-friends
Good luck with the fundraising and training though, I wouldn't fancy having to do either right now.

Ric, I hate them. Fairly simple really. Nothing is giving me more pleasure than watching them preparing to rip themselves apart over Europe. By the time they are done they'll be unelectable. Their cuts have just taken away a story and play session at my local library that my little one and lots of other children really enjoyed. Most of the parents are middle class Tory voters who weren't expecting their kids to be the scroungers that the Tory cuts would target. The parents deserve what they (don't) get but the kids are losing out for ideological reasons.
Interestingly Ed made labour unelectable because from certain angles he looked like a twat. Cameron on the other hand is a spherical bastard and he currently appears to be one of the nicer scumbags.
I know the building work has been going for some time - but not as long as you claim. I am really truly sorry - I know it is noisy and disruptive but it is essential. Threatening me with the police and insulting my builder will not resolve matters. I hope we can resolve this without further rancour.

I don't have many to begin with
I'm a grumpy elephant at the best of times.
Elephants tend to have big families & can bully neighbours & co workers, can't they?

Dear Neighbour,
