When we entered they asked for age, so I wonder if they'll exclude people over 30?
Nice work Sheds! I ventured to our local lake on Monday, rather chilly at 12 degrees. I have my first open water tri the weekend after next, very pleased about the incoming warmer air!
JCG - are there any good exercises (weights or own body weight) for swimming. Thought bench press, press ups, shoulders etc? And why when i swim cant i move both my arms and legs at the same time? when i move my legs my arms stop and when i move my arms my legs stop - its like patting your head whilst rubbing your tummy
Ran just under 10 miles today at Wings for Life. A Hoot. Very Very Hot. I should have gone quicker than the sub 4 Mara pace I did, but wasn't really sure how far I would get....
Sheds, I've grown my hair out again, and felt my old stick lady was no longer true to life. I would also like to hope she's faster with all this training.. We will see!
Back into swing of things - did a metafit and insanity class back to back and got something called piyo then a swim tomorrow. BUT ive to try and "jog" for 10 mins today such has been the healing power of shedboys calf
Yeah hope it went well coops. I did Color me rad 5k with a few kids, first run since marathon. Girls Aged11-14 and i thought easy stroll on here - what a laugh and we stopped at all color points. Little blighters did 7mm pace all way round - im ready for my bed now
Jeez pop out for a few weeks, and you all redesign and gone stick figures. Had to check I wasn't on the swimming and art world forum
Ikle, how are the knees? Okay after that run.
All good here, tapering down for comrades, lots of strength sessions (front squat PB twice today (70kg then 80kg)., long hilly one yesterday (13m with 1200 ft up in 1:50), 2-3 more runs left but nearly done.
Two weeks from today hopefully finished 3-4 hours ago and sat having a huge steak. Fingers crossed.
Gooood morning all. I had a cracking race yesterday - and our team swept up 5 of 6 of the prizes in our little inter-university race (most importantly winning £100 in Nandos' vouchers). Feeling super excited to get back to Ironman training now. Next up, half iron in 4 weeks. Wiiiew!
FRC - Have a great time at Comrades! Strength stuff sounds good - my nod to this is attending a circuits session once a week
Hooray for knees Ikle! Also very flattered that Ms Ikle Stick Figure is your facebook profile
Sheds, the tweens can be deceptively fast can't they. Mr JCG ran a Sub 20 min parkrun on the weekend and was pipped to the line by what appeared to be a 10 y/o.

Ikle - secret marathon? Tell more!
Thanks SB. I want to do sub 47...

I feel I need to get a drawing for my profile too!
Would you like a Coop original? I'm avoiding the PhD today so happy to oblige.
Sheds, I'd recommend swimming drills as your first stop. This website might be helpful: http://www.active.com/swimming/articles/drills-to-improve-your-swimming
Are you doing front crawl?
JCG - yes but the armbands are a bugger..not to mention the Zoggs swim ring, which whilst certainly helps flotation slows me down on my turns
Here you go Ikle!
Hehe thats wonderful! Suits you Ikle
You have to download it, save it on your comp, then just upload it like you did with your first pic
What was wings for life? Was it another of your exciting 24/hour esk races?
Come on Ikle get that profile pic changed - we could have a full page of JCG drawings.
Just noticed JCG has upgraded hers with flowing locks and definitely looks faster than the last drawing
Howdi Y'all. Geddoff your horse and drink my fizzy bon bons.

Haha, thanks Sheds, my stick figure self is flattered.
I'm tapering this week, and feeling fully hyped up for my sprint tri on Sunday. Wiiiiiiiiieeeew!
Take care on that calf Shed boy!

I have far too much excess energy from tapering. I'm practically bouncing around my office today.
Good Luck - hehe tapers are funny things!
