London acceptance form waiting at home for me last night -no surprise as carried over place but great to see anyway.
George bad luck about the ballot -hope you get the GB place! Keeping fingers crossed for you. I have some 'friends' who could 'help' with the opposition if you like....
Alex -looking forward to your track report later on -do they have a webcam there I wonder???
Off to Niketown 57.5 miler tonight on own as Lizzie still in northern prison
thanks ob,now back from it limbo land, much work to do to get to mile end.track report will be outstanding in its mendacity given lack of corroboration.
george,i'm still waiting for my fleece.and my photos...
not worthy, not worthy.hi there cm.i'll happily eat sprouts provided not done to death, but mrs p has banned them on grounds of envronmental impact.
yasso 800's.mmmmmmm.bit of a way to go,i think.i managed-honestly-to do 5x 800 in 4 mins each.apparently i need to be able to do 10x for the 4hr mara to be on...won't be there for a while.also nervous about that neighbourhood....must run faster back to the tube...
I'VE GOT MAIL!! - from NYC, the photos are here! The finish line one is quite good with myself, NR & Seaweed crossing together with hands aloft holding a very limp looking UJ. There's a guy in front blocking the way a bit but not too bad. I don't think I'll go for the other of me looking bemused with NR on one side and Seaweed on the other, both apparrently giving me an earful. Will probably go for video though!!!
I like sprouts too, esp. in the Boxing Day bubble & squeak to go with all the lovely cold meats pies pates and pickles. Perhaps I'd better run Christmas Day after all!!
alex - at what point do you need to be able to do the full 10 x 800's?
i suspect by april 13th.can't find much about it/haven't looked too hard.still awaiting hal higdon book, think its part of a parcel that was too big for the letterbox yesterday, taken back to depot.(though that could have been photos or flm fleece too,i guess).
no doubt the whiplash answer will be the sooner the better.if i don't hear otherwise i guess i'll try and add one per week, then either shorten recovery times or speed up a little bit.that's if i go every week, which will be tricky.also, the likelihood of running there more than twice without being seperated from valuables is pretty slim i fear.
where is that coach when you need her? I just might have to reprimand her!
alex - it won't be the photos that didn't make it through the letterbox, they come in a DL size envelope and as angi previously reported, you need bl**dy good eyesight or a strong magnifying glass to spot what's what!
Slightly larger -its the Empire State Building with the Verrazano narrows bridge in the distance. In fact if you look closely you can just see George meting out his promised punishmnet to Romford Runner
obvious really now you tell me.....perhaps i need my eyes testing.i suspect the photos will be difficult in that case, although large grin of monkey should help...
Sounds harder than I thought, I was imagining 800 then a couple of minutes walk/jog repeated. Still wish I'd done that -niketown seems like an unpleasant and chilly prospect right now
i'm not sure whether there's a prescribed recovery, but i didn't want to appear too hopeless in front of the other track users, two clearly extremely good female athletes-i overheard talk of a 34 min 10k-and their coach.they seemed to be doing a lot of 200m intervals...i got out of the way! niketown will be great-i'm off to a drinks party hehehehehe
.......or a very pleasant and warm run from this side of it.
Unpaced this time and about a minute and a half faster!!. This is getting silly. 7:30 mile pace for 7.5 miles -may not seem too outstanding to some but I'm very, very, very happy.
NY photos here as well and can even see my face (in tears!) in one.
Think this is a good time to do lottery ticket.......
puffer, great run last night, well done.i think i may be a little slower by the time we run again, the social marathon season has started, big time.
postbag update:training books have arrived from depot, not much discussion of mr yasso,so that parcel wasn't either my flm rejection fleece or my urwfrc kit.getting impatient for both...but,photo arrived-only the one.cm's glorious finishing photo seems to have been hijacked by a desperado in a green vest.sensibly she appears to be removing my hand from her ear...as far as i can tell-difficult to work from these small proofs isn't it?perhaps all will be revealed in glorious 10x8...not worthy, not worthy.
off to see esteemed clients in sunny basildon this morning, back for light lunch of Guinness and oysters-big City charity event.next run scheduled for about a week on sunday,i fear.
correction to earlier post-in the light of puffers very fast pace,my session yesterday should read 800 slow 600 slower, etc.apologies for pretending to to 'speed'work.i expect the lash...
