Gubby Allen bowled fast medium. Took 22 wickets (I think) on the bodyline tour but refused to bowl bodyline.

I thought Gubby Allen also bowled slow - dual options a la Tony Greig. My brain might be muddled!
Didn't Viv Richards represent his country at footie and cricket?

Yep, Viv Richards is correct - played in a World Cup qualifier for Antigua.
I'll have a think about Gubby Allen - maybe on the post war tours in his mid 40s when we were trying to re-establish normality.

I think it was a joke question, but it had the right answer. Similar for the second one. Maybe I'm on the wrong thread.

Kings Crowned - the answer is 1!
James I - 1603-1625, he was King of Scotland when he was crowned King of England (all of the others were Princes when they were crowned!)
I can hear the groans from here!

Hang on a mo, don't monarchs ascend to the throne on death of the predecessor then get crowned, unlike Edward VIII who ascended but wasn't crowned. Didn't our current Queen ascend in 1952 and then get crowned in 1953 ?
