haven't looked at the Paris Forum. Will do now. Meeting up sounds good. Am heading over on the Friday to get to the Expo. Hope to hit Disney on Saturday.
Can't think of a better way to kill the time before....
Will be in Paris until Monday.
What target does everyone have in mind for Paris and / or Finchley?
Still no number.....sigh. Maybe something on the mat tonight when I stumble through the door in a drunken haze. so if you see a runner with a big footprint on her number...It must be the weekend soon..... Jane..keep it up, it wont be forever. Sunday is meant to be nice and sunny so get your long run in then if poss! Can't think of anything more depressing that running on a machine in the gym - mind you with 4 kids am sure you are getting loads of exercise anyway - cross training huh!
Yes Wokingham was freezing wasn't it! First race I've worn a jacket (done up) all the way round and not felt hot! Got a pb at that one. How did you do Frankeee?
Got my number through on Friday at last! yippee (I think...). Reading was good but oh that delayed start was a pain. And as for that pain on the tannoy..it was enough to make you run faster to get away from him! So all ready for Sunday then? I live locally so may just head straight back - however what pub you all going to for cake? Frankee - Your times are great - dont think I'll be using you as a pacer on Sunday! Aiming for 3 hrs.
Jackie, this'll be my first race over 20 miles so I added 40 secs per mile to my half pace. Need to try as marathon pace... see just how much endurance I have. Just hope I'm not too ambitious.
I'll take the vote of the local people. The map points to 2 pubs so one of those would be good... as long as we (my friends and I), can eat. Handy for those who want cake.
Shame the weather isn't warmer coz there is a man made beach there where you can lie on the sand and swim in the water! Not that you would want to swim there but even so....think that's where they suggest parking (Ruislip Lido). I heard that you could only run part of this at marathon pace and the rest at a slower pace but I can't remember where I heard it - maybe the RW training camp. I'm no expert so I guess just do what feels right on the day! I've been told to take a sachet of lucozade sport every 5 miles so have my other half on hand to do a drinks stop of his very own. Is it your first marathon?
what half marathon time did you get at reading jackie 3hrs for 20 miles is going some you must be a bit of a wippet im going for sub 3.45 after 1/2 at reading Agree with you about the start the bloke on the mike needed shooting it was so cold even in the bin liners my feet took over a mile to thaw so i could feel my toes
Jane I wouldn't say whippet - well maybe I look like one! Half marathon pb is 1.44 which was wokingham about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't allowed to race Reading so took it steady and ran wth my friend in 1.58. Has anyone actually run this distance before? I know people who've done this race before and there is a HILL near the end of the 5 miles - which means you have to do it at the end of each lap so 4 times! Sure you are all delighted to hear that!

I did Wokingham a couple of weeks instead. Drove through the snow to get there then...
Didn't realise it'd be 6 degrees colder in Wokenham so ran in my shorts...
Really felt the cold on that final mile.
What mpm pace are you aiming for on the 20? Having never run 20 before I can only guess, but I hope for 7:30.
What about you?
Seeing as I may get there before you I'll save you a seat in the pub....and get the cake in.

Remember doing my first half and realising (after hobbling to my friends), that it was only half way.
Then the squadies came in full kit.....
Anyone else aiming for around 3 hrs 20??

I'm sure we could make room for you... if you ask nicely.
