Can you guys tell me what and how much you're eating - Im not sure Im getting it right! Are you eating a lot more than normal and feeling really full? I dont want to put on weight for the run cos itll surely slow me down!
Over the last few months you should have had a steady diet of Carbs which you normally burn off in your runs. You should keep your meals at the same level and don't overload.
You should never feel bloated after a meal (very easy with pasta), little and often is the general rule. Also cheese sauce with your pasta is harder to digest, tomato based sauces are best.
By now you should be feeling a wee bit heavy legged as your muscles store up for the big day...I feel so lethargic. This will wear off as you get a couple of miles under your belt on Sunday.
spoke to nutritionist yest, she says 1 v carby meal a day is enough and avoid things that are very fatty and sugary. i'm on porridge and banana for bf, normal sarnie for lunch and a stodgy dinner - good luck hon!
ok higo and michael - see u at around 8 on sun then i'm no. 37100 with children with leukaemia shirt and my name on it.
ahhh really am going mad, can't concentrate at all, been really bubbly all day, then i just randomly fell into deep sleep. i've got to calm down - so much for no alcohol i'm gonna have to have a wine tonight!
Uck! I remember a Broons' cartoon where they poured their left over porridge into a spare kitchen drawer and left it to set the next day...(I was brought up near Peterhead, but moved down to England when I was 15...)
I'm a honey man with pumpkin seeds on top by way...
dO we have the surgical spirit on our porrige? I think Ive been doing it wrongly I,ve just been swigging it from the bottle! See you at the blue start - good luck everyone
New here, looking also to do in sub 4 hrs which is a little optomistic this being my first marathon in fact first race of any type since shool...! I think this is possible though ?
Right foot problem. One pain has gone only to replaced by another slightly more painful one in a different place. Not panicking yet, honest! This has happenned since my last run on Tuesday. I don't understand. Referee!
The local tv news marathon special waether forecast finished with the words 'if you can manage about four hours you should be dry, slower and you can expect to get wet'. Another incentive ;-))
Hi All, just popping into wish everyone a good run on Sunday. Me and Mr Billie will be leaving Devon in the early hours of tomorrow morning and going straight to expo to collect numbers. I am doubtful about getting sub 4, but Mr Billie is aiming for that. I will be pleased to get around 4.15 but we'll wait and see. Its been a relatively problem free preparation and being able to raise money for a good cause has made it all worthwhile. I hope everyone "enjoys" the day and dont forget to appreciate and acknowledge what you have all acheived as you cross the finish line. Have a good one!!
The injury's lingering a bit but I'm off to get my gait scanned this morning so hopefully some custom orthotics will sort things out. I've got a year to prepare for the 2006 race... ;-)

anything is possible - if you have been following
some kind of training plan you should have some
idea of what you might manage.
Yes I have ben following a charities plan which seemed fine but for me constantly falling asleep after every run, surely not normal ?
to repair itself . . .
if you have managed a 20 mile run in about 3
hours then a 4 hour marathon is possible . . .
anything seems to be magnified at this stage.

Just a quick note to wish you all "good luck" for Sunday. Sounds like the weather will be a bit better than last year.
Enjoy it! It's a great feeling!
