Why can women not respect that a man needs a clean car??
I only drive my car at weekends during the week my wife potters around in it doing what ever she does ,but why do they have to treat them as a dustbin??
Every Saturday Morning I am faced with the same old dilemma put a pair of overalls on or perform a full valet before we go off down Waitrose.
Coke can's ,chewing gum & wrapper ,sweet's ,water bottles, wellington boots, dog leads ,wet coats, news papers.
The final straw this last week she went to the garden centre picked up few "bit's & bob's" & then put them on the back seat !!Why ??
The boot was empty & has a nice (unused)rubber load liner in it !!
I am not expecting her to do anything technical like fill the bloody washer bottle or god forbid wash the damn thing.
Ladies please tell me why????????

Do you leave the loo seat up?
Is it too much to ask not to leave molten chocolate in the centre console ? And not lose the cigarette lighter thingy ?
And - when I leave a cycling/running/tri mag out at home - it's not mess - it's just that I'm reading it and I'll be back later to finish it. Maybe.
Honestly - I think she'd tidy my insulin away if I had any.
If its not too personal a question what does your wife do to get you to Waitrose - Mr G assumes that the cupboards etc in our house fill automatically. If I could get him to Waitrose I'd be more than happy to clean the car
And I'm fine with food shopping. In fact I insist this week as last week - gasp - she left me alone in the house with no rice and no pasta.... It's all too much...Sob sob sob
They are from a bloody different planet
When having the same argument with the missus I relate it to
Would you be happy if I left the house in that state!
Winge and Moan at her!!! They do it to us!
It takes me from A to B, and looks less attractive to theives. What more do I need?
It's actually quite good at taking the need to dry the car away as it doesn't leave spots or dry streaky. Which leaves more time for buffing and polishing!!
Much fun.
;o)
It depends whether you view the car as a method to get from A to B or something to enjoy. I think if you want to enjoy your car, you will look after it more (both by cleaning & servicing).
My sister's not fussed about driving & how her car looks, hardly looks after it (hence never cleaning or servicing it). However her bedroom is quite tidy.
Whereas I like to enjoy driving, I'm not obsessed about if it's v clean but I like it when it is. And would service it often. My bedroom is a complete mess.
The majority of men in my family like their cars to be shiny clean. And only the odd one doesn't care.
INteresting points, or have I killed the thread.
Love pressure washing too, esp. if there are annoying kids around to soak....
i know more women with kids who create all kinds of mess inside cars due to unvoidable feeding sleeping playing requirements of kids on long journeys
conclusion
this is either not a bloke/woman thing
or
women are doing alot of cleaning you just don't see
and the bit left is just the one bit they missed
i always service my car
if you want to it to function as transport, it makes no sense to neglect it's googly bits
but the inside , the soft furnishings, well that's a kind of "would be nice if" and gets cleaned when i have the time
