Considering this at the moment. Now decided not to do L2B, should be able to do this and two other marathons in October. Where's F Ant-is he on this thread?
Just done London, and this certainly is on a level peg but obviously totally different marathons! This is a fantastic day, and i wouldnt miss it for the world. We can all run marathons, but to say that you can run snowdon is something a little different.
cant wait, just hope the weather is as good as 2004!
thanks for asking FBS my IT band in my left leg felt like it snapped at 10 mile so i feel a bit crap, am going the club tommorrow to see gina am going to let her loose on me, FBS am doing the blackpool marathon in june, because i know i can do better than 4,24 so am going to do it, (as well as snowdonia) why dont you and jaksey give it a crack, just started a new job today and i dont finish till half 6 so its going to be a rush to the club.(bastard) how are you any way FBS
I'm OK fella, specially after the blues last night.
Still got a hamstring problem, but it getting better all the time, hasn't stopped me running but is uncomfortable.
My IT band played up 2 years ago, causing me a shi£e London time. Took a little while to sort, didn't run at all for 3 weeks, but have a good stretch for you. See you at the club tonight and will demonstrate.
hello fbs hadent seen this posting till now,am going to see gina on monday, so hopefully she can sort me out, oh and you must show me that stretcdh, are u gunning for blackpool
Hi everyone I am considering this one - I like scenic runs although the hills sound a little scary. Like pacey snail I am hoping to do Cardiff as well 3 weeks before. My theory is that the fantastic views will take my mind off the agony. Am I right do you think? Does anyone know what time it starts - it doesn't say on the entry form.
Having read through the messages on this thread, I feel quite at home. The anticipation, the do I, don't I dilemma of filling in the form. Anyway, that bits done and my number confirmed!
Now comes the crunch. I have done the FLM a number of times now and know how to train for it. What I don't know is how the training plan for something like Snowdonia compares with a standard training plan?! Can anyone shed any light or experience on what they use/ have done/ experienced before?
I am simulating the hill at 2 miles on a treadmill at the moment for 3km to help build leg strength as well as taking to the south downs at every opportunity, but would welcome any ideas from those of you nutters who will be parading the roads surrounding Snowdon on the 31st October?
Cheekyboy - I set up a thread on 'training' to ask for advice on just this - I'll boing it for you as it has some helpful stuff. It's called 'training for hard marathons' or something like that.
From all that i have read i think that this may become my second marathon,i realsie that it will be hard work but as i am told regulary anyone can run on the flat!!also what is the accomodation situation in the area as i would be travelling from a distance away i am thinking of a long weekend
Accomodation is good - earlier in this string there is a few ideas ranging from the Youth Hostel to Local Hotels. I stay at Plas Coch Guest house (which has a web site) which is quite close to the finish. But you are really spoilt for choice.
