BIR this race is 14 miles not k but an excellent race always rated on RW site A good warm up for London usually clashes with Wilmslow half which is fast and flat and a lot of London runners use as a guide for London.
14 miles in the lakes sounds right up my street. i'll definately be considering this one. i'm spending a week in coniston in a weeks time too, and am "racing" in keswick.
I'll be at this - third time. I reckon its one of the best races on the calendar. Best get my form in sharpish or it will be full.
andy - I believe lots of people do this as a London warm-up. As indicated its undulating (in a gentle Lake District kind of way) and with only one 'real' hill - it is a good one though - up past Brantwood starting at about ten and a half miles.
I've entered - done the last 2 - and it's definitely one of my favourite races.
Andy - you say you were brought up 5 miles south of the lake - not in Broughton by any chance? I went to primary school there, lived at the bottom of the Duddon valley.
My entry was sent in about 2 months back - but no acknowledgment yet. Thought I'd get in early, as last year I failed to get in. Is it me, or is this event not listed on the RW events list? Anyone know why?
You do know me as i am in the North Staffs. Are you still in group X this year, if so you should stand a good chance (well thats what i keep saying to myself evey year but i've got to improve to stand a chance in group E).
I'm looking forward to Stafford as its clashed with Coniston for the last few years.
I see the Race is now full. Fortunately I entered about three weeks ago, and my cheque has been banked so I am in. Is it me? Or are all races filling up quicker and quicker each year. Brass Monkeys went in 8 Days, Wilmslows already full. I have already had to enter the White Peak half which isn't until May 20th, just to be certain of getting in.

I've not had an acknowldegement, but pretty sure my cheques been cashed.
I entered before I decided to do London. So this will be an exercise in avoiding injuries and enjoying the scenery.
fingers crossed i'll have a 9-5 job next year!
