Hello everyone. First time post on this. Really enjoyed the run yesterday. Only down side was i thought there were water at 4K, so that 4 - 5K bit up the neverending hill was v tricky.
Time was 59 mins dead on the clock which was a massive PB, so pretty pleased.
It was pretty tricky. I am doing the New Forest Half Marathon again this year and the New Forest 10, so just wanted to get one out the way before those really.
did find it tricky.. no real warning of those hills as well. Didnt stop but not sure that helped as some people that did ended up going past me anyway
James - I did the New Forest 10 last year. It was bl@@dy hot day, it took me 2hrs 10mins. They were advertising NF10 at Marwell yesterday, so my husband said.
yeah think we have got the form already. Thanks anyway. Yeah would like to do it, and i dont mind it the heat so much as long as its not too undulating!!!!
I often find runners that stop running and walk up hills end up passing me. I do actually make a concerted effort not to stop running and that is what I am there for.
This one is hilly, Longleat is probably worse and Salisbury Firesation 10k has a real brute of a climb on it's course but they are all good challenging fun.
Does anyone know the name of the sport photography company that took the pics yesterday, there was a flyer in my race pack but thrown it away, many thanks.
Really enjoyed the run, did really well until 8k then struggled a bit but the other runers were fantastic and kept me going. managed to keep running and did it in 1.03.18 by my watch and 1.04.01 by official timing. That's my first ever 10k so a really huge sense of achievment.
As I said though can't thank the other runners enough I would have definately walked some of it without them. (Aching today though!!)
I'm really pleased with my time - 50:31 by the official clock, 49:58 by my watch which is almost 8 minutes better than last year and a new PB! I've got the 10k in two weeks at Victoria Country Park - my aim is to get an officially recorded sub 50 minute time.

That is a good time, on such a hard course.
