Wow!!! V-Rap I'm impressed!! Well done to you, Helen & FR. I did it in 8hrs 55min - but it took over 40 minutes to do the first mile cos of the volume of people - and those toilet queues were horrendous weren't they! I felt so shattered at the end - but proud that I'd done it (considering the furthest I'd walked in 'training' was 6 miles!!). Anyway, glad it's over with!!! You did brilliantly - no wonder I didn't see you!!!! Right, I'd better go sort out the bald cat... catch you later. M x
I was rather pleased with the GP mag pic too, Alan. Surprised nobody at the beano yesterday recognised me from it, though. I wish they'd contacted me for some decent text to go with the pic.
EP, love your photos. I'm having the one of us all, with FR lying at the front, as my wallpaper on the screen.
I had a great laugh at Hogsmill last week so I'm thinking of doing another race next weekend - wouldn't normally do one quite so soon but it's relatively local.
It's a 10 miler. I think that I'll be able to manage that but I'm just a bit worried that if I'm too slow, they will come along and scoop me up and bring me back to the finish in a minibus (bring on the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Child Catcher nightmares...)
I wouldn't be treating it as a race, but as a training run, aiming for just under 2 hours.
I love those Moonwalk piccies. We're not allowed to have any desktop wallpaper though - all computers have to look the same so that in theory anyone could use a vacant desk and have the same set up that they are used to. Not that I'm intending to share my office with anyone...
Hell, I'm going to do it - the Great Baddow. Michelle, are you going to be there (wondering if you know someone doing it as I wouldn't expect you to be even thinking about entering after Saturday's effort!) Now have to go and find train times :-)
Lamb, come back and post on the Abingdon training thread, we miss yooooooooo
Gail - Yep! I entered Great Baddow a while back..(obviously this was long before my feet fell off from Saturday night!!). I still intend to do it though (fool that I am..). Won't be able to do much this week though.. might try and go for a little slow run tomorrow and see how I get on. Gonna put lots of plasters on and two pairs of socks for Sunday! Unable to wear any form of footwear at the moment, 'cept thick socks and a pair of slippers.. that's gonna look good tonight at work isn't it!!!
Nobody gets to share my office either. They could - I haven't personalised it very much (when I have my own place I will have sofas, armchairs and a coffee table with a filter machine permanently brewing, and all the examination kit discreetly screened off in a corner. And nice tissues because I'm always making people cry, and a good mirror and a selection of slap so that they can repair their faces before going out).
Now I think about it, this IS my own place and I could do all that if I could be bothered rearranging everything, which I can't.
Yes, let's try and meet up before the race. I'll be wearing black shorts/black vest and white baseball cap. What number are you Gail? I'm No. 16. BTW - Hello Lamb!!

Am I mad? (no, not generally, read on a bit)

Hello Lamb - still up for Abingdon?!?!?!
btw, i have a whole load of entry forms if anyone wants...
ScamperMouse, go for it! You'll be way faster than 2 hours on Sunday's performance, and 10 miles is a satisfying distance.
I must rearrange my desktop. All the icons are on top of Pix and me at the moment. We are meant to BE icons, not to be obscured by them.
off to lunch soon... be back later, hooves crossed...
