Hurrah - its the Liverpool 10k! I wish Run Liverpool a thoroughly succesful event this weekend and if you get the chance to talk to any of the organisers perhpas discuss the Marathon idea. Good luck to anyone running it.
the game would be too easy minsterman... i wouldnt even need to train, i need a challenge bring on the marathon! how are the discussions going with run liverpool/ firefighters association etc?
For me its perfect timing despite the potential heat - I will get some serious training done whilst on holiday in 30 degrees - and it won't be that hot in Liverpool in August -
To those who are confused, the Liverpool Half Marathon will on Sunday, 25th March. No changes are planned to the event or course and everything should remain the same as in 2005 /6 (subject to regeneration work in the city). The London Marathon Company are not delivering the event in 2007 and I am not in a position to comment on why. Anyone keen enough to the reasons should contact the London Marathon Company direct. The Silverstone (HM) event is on March 18th, the week before. Liverpool Half marathon entries are being taken via Runner's World or an entry form can be downloaded from www.runliverpool.org.uk
I have a suggestion for you redhead, and the toffee and the cougs and everyone else.
Get in touch with your local councillor and raise this as an issue with them. Discussions with them can bring about real change since they can directly influence the decisions made by Liverpool City Council - since they represent you as a consituent.
Follow this link, and select your area in the "Ward" to find out who your councillor is. You can simply send them an email to ask about the possibility of the Marathon.
More requests will bring more political inertia towards making it happen!!
Excellent idea. I probably won't run it coz i don't like running but I'd love to see it happen. Wonder if they would take notice of councillors from outside Liverpool CC.

Personally i dont mind either way!! I'll be happy to partner the sprinting toffee up front, outsprint the cougie and nudge a few past the redhead!!
