I'm not running tonight - I'm saving my legs for sunday , I jogged 5 miles with ny wife last night and may do the same Fri but this morning my legs were killing me!
It's killing me Plodding, I never thought it would impact my training but the forced 13+ minute jog is certainly excercising parts of my legs before untouched.
I usually do 1:20+ runs twice a week and jog with Mrs Hawes twice a week. But as it's the race sunday I'll go to the gym & X train tonight. I'm always on the edge of dodgy shins - teetering I call it!
We pushed from 4.5 to 5 miles last night and it was a sobering experience - If I was to put that much gasping effort into my training runs and races I'd be a winner . If I trained that far from my comfort zone every time I went out I could be an elite veteran in no time. But I'm not as brave as she is - it's sobering to see her putting that much effort in.
morning all well, I've got my number 307, so I shall see you all there. Having only done 2 10ks before, this is going to be quite a challenge for me, but I'm looking forward to it - especially the mud.
Plodding - I tested Roclites for first time on part of stagger course and ended up with sore feet. Prob too much road/hard track in this race. You'd appreciate them in places but overall, prob best save them for something proper scary.
Dale - I was gonna get some terrocks but couldn't finance it - went with some Asics Enduro in the end [that I managed to pick up cheap] tried them out last week and they seemed okay - not sure how they will cope with 'slop gully' mind :-S
Hipps - are you carrying a serious injury? Doesn't bode well if you are - looks like you've had this 'issue' for a while :-(
There will be a group of us pubbing it, although we'll prob go and shower first. Really starting to think the pub we usually go to isn't actuallycalled The Gate. It's a small pub opposite the park entrance before the round-about and the larger pub the other side of there. The main entrance to the pub we're going to is actually not on the main Heath rd but a road parallel to it (it's kind of on a triangle where the roads meet I think). Anyway, there will defo be a few of us in there once showered :-)

Anyway just for everyone have we all agreed that we are meeting in "the Gate" afterwards? Just in case people dont get back on here?

You'll have to carry your roclites with you and change them before the gully - and then change back ;-)
My "run" today-i could have walked it quicker-such is the pain
ah well, i am used to being last
If anyone is still there in the pub when i finish-im up for it
dont worry - take a few tinnies with you! that way even if you take 8 hours you can still start drinking at the same time as everyone else.
