I've not been running long and did longleat as my first 10K, the hills were punishing to say the least.
Yes, your family can get into marwell at a reduced rater i believe and if your kids are into running, i think there's a race for them to do which will give them free access too i think but you'll have to double check on that.
I'm in for this one. Entry going into the post later today. Glad to hear the hills aren't so bad as Longleat!
What with the Hammers supporters and the Pompey supporters, will I be victimised for supporting Saints?
Will be nice to run a race back home near my roots. My mum won't be pleased about having to come and stand watching for the fifth time in three months tho!
A Saints supporter!!!!! My house is full of them as hubby's roots are in southampton and my son is into football too now so all they seem to talk is saints, saints, saints!!! lol
My Motley crew are coming to this one as their will be something to amuse them whilst mum kills herself running up that BIG hill!!!
Hi all, Entered in time this year and plan on making it a family day out. Coerced son and brother into entering so with their families support crew will be loud!*! At least no fear of being overtaken by Rhinos this year. How fast are lemurs?
You're very welcome! I almost posted this one before I realised it was leggit for lemurs not llamas! But if that one cheered you up then this one should too!
As i said i've got a injury so Marwell will be my first since devizes at the beginning of March.
I've been to Mrwell with the kids and can remember that ruddy great hill as you go round!! but then , those hills at longleat will always be legendary to me as it was my first 10k. . . . .lol
Well I sent off an application form for my son and me but haven't heard anything back yet. I would like to do it though.
I live right at the bottom of two hills so which ever way I run I face either a long steady incline or a darn great hill so I don't notice them so much these days.
Longleat sounds like a nice place to run too.
I haven't done a 10k since Moors Valley last year and fear my times are going to be appalling so at least I'll have the hills to blame.
FF, Thanks for that. I now have a vision of a bunch of lunatic forumites singing that song at the start... Maybe not quite the same ring as "Sir Mick and Phil's - Easy, easy, easy" but it migth start a trend. None of my lot (me, bro and son) have received any paperwork as yet but last year they were v efficient and they had a desk at the Zoo entrance for late pick ups (not entries if I remember right)
Reading half now seems ages past and looking forward to this one now.

I've only done 1 10k so i'm hoping for a better time. I'm booked to do Devizes too.
I'm eyeing up treadmills at the moment, anybody got any advice on buying one??

How does it work with access to the zoo for anyone accompanying you? Might bring the wife and kids along for a nice little picnic afterwards.
Blimey did your feet touch the ground!!! lol

thanks - i think the only way the kids would be interested in running is if they let the tigers out of the cages though !! :-)
Cheers

You are a long way from West Ham/Upton Park.
Lil
The last 2 years the weather has been lovely.
Tracey, does it actually take you round the park where the animals are or is it in the vicinity?
You do one lap of the zoo, then you go out on the road and finish back in the zoo.
Mine and the kids cheques have been cashed, so should get our number soon.
If I enter now, does anyone think I will still get in?
If they released tortoises, they would catch me.
