I've entered to use it as my training run for the Rome marathon three weeks later. The plan is to run the first lap at Long run pace and then the second at race pace !
Mick, I have not done a 10 mile race for while so it will make a change. Is this race a bit south for you? As I have seen you at races in the north and the midlands.
Seriously concerned about this one. I am training for my first marathon (Paris-15th April)and have not run a 20 miler thus far, let alone try one via an event.
I did 18 miles in 2hrs 49 a week or so ago, so I guess am looking at 3hrs 10 or thereabouts.
Is that going to be good enough to get in before the orgnisers start packing up!? If so, I might switch to the 10 and try a 20 miler on my own when embarrassment won't be so much of a factor!
Just been thinking Mick, it was defo Windsor cos I offered Phil some chocolate when you were in the tent and he refused it. A kid refusing choccy eh!! Always a 1st hehehehehehehe
Good morning all, I did the meon valley plod yesterday and I am a better man for it.In the future I am not going to waste energy worrying about hills/distance/mud/rain.From now on they will all have to worry about me.So watch out bramley, I am coming to get you.(pips and all.)
I thought there was a short sharp little hillock at around 9 miles...could be wrong...it's one of those that you don't really notice first time round but it is a bit of a bugger second time...
Thanks Old Road Runner, I was wanting to know if there were any hills of note. This is the first time I will have run a 20 mile race, although I have done 2 full's and my first time at Bramley, I did Stamford 30K in 2.22 yesterday which I was a little disappointed in as I was hoping for 7.30's, I am hoping Bramley should seem flat in comparison. Anyone know if its just water stations or are there any energy drinks. I guess from the size of the fields there's good parking and kit storage etc, just that I'm coming up by myself, so don't want to be rushing round at the last minute.
Parking is well sign posted and ample. There is also a high 5 station just after the 10 mile mark or if memory serves me around the 5 mile mark as well, will be listed in race info though. c u all there
Also did the Meon Plod yesterday. Be interested to see what I can do on a road 20 miler after 3-54 for the plod. Not that I should be worried after yesterday but how steep are the inclines (mentioned above)?

Yes, friend a little
We live in Stratford on Avon, 6 miles from M40
Bramley is very easy though to get to
M40 J4 for A404 To M4 Get off at Reading drop down to Bramley
We just simply travel all over
We don't mind, as it's for a sport we both love and cherish so much !!
Hopefully it will be 20 for us. looking to beat last years 2.58
10 is a we bit short !

You'll be fine
there'll be plenty of people around then
me and Phil should even be in to welcome you home
we cracked 2.58 last year
Only thing might prevent that is we've got TOUGH Draycote Water marathon week before
Depends what's in my legs
How r u
When did we last meet ??
Think last one was Windsor mate, b4 that either Reading or Abingdon 05. Its been a while.
When you come back round for another lap, can you give a lift ? I'll bring my own crash hat !! ... You should catch me at about mile 12 !!!!
Not long to go now, everyone fully trained up?
Beaks - 'inclines' are at 6 and 8 miles on each lap (assuming you are doing the 20 - only once for the 10)
Looking to get inside 2hrs 50min for this one...
See you there BK and Nicko....
Only yesterday I was wondering if you are still around !!
Hope you are well (2.50 suggests you are! )see you on the 25th !
There is also a high 5 station just after the 10 mile mark or if memory serves me around the 5 mile mark as well, will be listed in race info though.
c u all there

We did Bramley 20 last year in 2.58
From what i can remember Bramley is much flatter
only remember 2 hills??
At Bramley there is a clock car at 5 And 15 yes ..NO ???
Though i do think Bramley 20 is a super race ...
Not so sure now what will happen about cracking 2.58 though, just pulled out of Wokingham at 1 mile mark with Gastric flu
Got Draycote marathon this weeks 5 laps, what we'll do i don't know
Going to be a few days before i'm chanting easy...easy...easy
At the moment all i can think is Bloddy head...Bloddy head ...Bloddy Head
*sob*
If anyone drops out and I can square it with the organisers then please can I have your number?
I only want to do the baby course.
After the way you flew around Wokingham, you should rattle off 20
easy...easy...easy
How you feeling? Any better?
