Doesn't sound like a lot of isotonic drinks. I'll bring as much Lucozade Sport as the wee-raptors and I can carry, as well as jelly babies and cut-up oranges )
Just popped in to wish you good luck. Hippo and Velo, hats off doing this one after FLM, I did 8 miles today and that was enough!
Go Mick & Phil, so sorry I won't be seeing you. You pair up for Leicester in October?
My mate Sal Zerk, who posts on here once in a blue moon is running her first mara tomorrow, so good luck girl! (She'll be the one picking up her baby to run over the finish line with him, if she's true to form!)
If the mad old gent is out on his drive blasting music again, give him a high 5 from me! Wonder if that mad hippy woman with the nuts and jelly babies will show up again?
Sorry I'll be missing it all - gotta help my club run the Offa's Orra.
Anyone else up for an early breakfast and on here? My parents are staying for the weekend so their dogs gave me a bit of a shock when I came downstairs bug-eyed at 6.15...
Howdy all. I'm back, I'm out of the bath, and I seem to be mostly in one piece. Its a pretty knackered piece and it doesn't bend in the usual places, but one piece all the same! Hope you all enjoyed yourselves. I thought the Greenway was quite pleasant really. I was in a World of Pain (TM) but its a more scenic place to be in pain than a road. Anyway, despite things falling apart a bit in the last 5 miles, I just sneaked a PB of 3:29 so I'm happy enough. Mick, pleasure to meet you this morning mate.
That's marathon number 2, watch out Hippo, I'll be catching you up soon.... Or not.
Hi all. Good to see you again MickNPhil. How did your run go? It was much better than last year and the weather was just fine.
Managed to get around in 3hrs 21min. Tried a bit faster but I am happy with the result. I don't remember the greenway being that long! Medal was great, support was great. Parking cost was a bit much but still I enjoyed the day. What happened to Disco man from previous years?
We probably saw you both at our unofficial jelly-babies-and-oranges support point at Mile 17.
Absolutely perfect day for running! I was so envious of everyone. Stratford has a reputation for usually being too hot, but today it was cool and just slightly breezy.
Big PB for Heebie, who had almost a photo-finish with Flyaway, and I know several other people did rather well. And great to meet George again after what seems like ages )
I didn't see Mick'n'Phil apart from at the start and just before 6 miles - I'm not sure whether they did the full or the half in the end. But they were going well!
hi peeps... didnt see a whole load of people but had a really good run overall.... and felt like the fastest thing on the greenway for the last 6miles :-) 3:40 i think.
the only exciting thing that happened was nearly getting taken out by v-rap wielding a particularly pointy bit of orange cos the lady just ahead of me had missed out on the tray of wonder.
I managed to run 3:19. Was expecting to go slightly quicker but don't think the hill(s) and heat helped today. I had forgetten the various (slight) undulations from last year. This year I managed to enjoy the greenway but it felt a bit lonely as everyone seem to be strung out in single file.
I thought the organistion was exemplary and the marshals did a great job.
Loved this race, really well organised and some great support from the towns and villages and the marshals were great too. Thought it was a good course and I actually loved the greenway and was picking runners off along the whole length of it and did my first ever negative split in a Marathon and a PB by over 27 minutes.
Will almost certainly comeback next year even though I will be running FLM, but FLM is earlier next year so hopefully I will have 2 weeks to recover

Wish I had Sky TV - the cricket world cup final would be a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon!
Looking forward to it, though a PB is out of the question - 3:05 at best - anyone else running similar times, I'm #2462.

A job well done to the Velociraptor family.
I also saw FlyingAnt and broke the news that the Blackpool marathon is now 2 x half laps! Not sure if it went down well!
