Thanks for that RR link LR, very amusing and a timely reminder to us guys that we are indeed indispensable! Your Journey post also served as a prompt for me to get some new tunes for my iPod over the weekend now that I'm getting into LSR territory again so hopefully that will make things a little easier.
Many congrats to the amazing SL for another outstanding Iron Man achievement. No doubt she's probably still busy with the 4th discipline.

P.S. Hi to Ian 151/GOM - I do remember you but I think it was before you starting speaking in tongues with the Tri lot.
That is what running a marathon does to you, one year it is half marathons, then full marathons. Then all of a sudden you are doing an IM before you know it
Checked SL results a little while ago, she cam 14/85 in her age group, amd I'm not sure but her time may mean that she is now the fastest Irish lady over the IM distance. But not sure of that will have have to check my facts.
I still think the idea of doing three marathons in three days is a bit daft!!
I managed my first run since the marathon yesterday (not counting the dash through Dublin Airport). 15 minutes on a treadmill!! My legs felt fine which was nice and reassuring. I suspect there will be a lot more use of the treadmill over the next few months until it gets light again It's not my favourite thing in the world.
BK some people view running a marathon as daft! Then it becomes normal... hang out in this forum too long and suddenly it'll all seem completely normal to run 3 marathons in 3 days.
I have to admire anyone who can do that and marvel at their restorative abilities.
Well done to SL, what a time.
DTB, hand over some cake or you'll be stripped of your title... having no cake is disgraceful behaviour for a cake pimp! I'd like a savoury cake at the moment though, a hot potatoe cake with melting butter and bacon, can't wait for lunch time ready to eat the table!
Sorry LR! Just trying to get my post marathon calorie fest under control! How about some meringues instead? (working on the basis that they are mostly made of air, and therefore are devoid of calories?!) um.......
I'm planning on mastering teh triathlon one discipline at a time. So far I'm still struggling with running but plan to be learning to ride a bike next year, something slick and sprty like this maybe...
You may have noticed I haven't put myself on the list yet... Not sure about numbers. Off the top of my head people I removed from the list were you, hilly, dai lactic, no mas.
I just hope that it hasn't turned you off marathoning. Just remember, be strong, we're all behind you
and never forget... to drink SIS until your nose bleeds <<cue dramatic music as ITB gazes over horizon and a gust of wind gently streams through his hair(er... hang on, haven't you shaved all your hair off?), hmmm, a gust of wind gently streams through his nose hair?..not quite the same ring to it... ahem

Morning all.

Nope sorry, just checked the record is 10hrs 40mins set 2005 in Austria by Karen Bothwell.
But still, how I would so love to do 11:16:58 for and IM, plus if she keeps improving like this that record is within sight.
She's a very impressive lady! and nice too lol....sigh....
DTB,
get the cake out, and we will call you nice as well
Have you heard the triple may be back on for next year?
Ah, yes, i had heard that..... am planning on doing Beachy Head....and that's all, lol....
Um....cake....don't think I have any, but I do have some chocolate digestives.....I'll put the kettle on...

You'll really enjoy Beachy DTB, I did.
Nothing wrong with 3 marathons in 3 days, just need to get the planning right

I hear you DTB... My big problem is my non-marathon calorie fest!
I've put on a stone, yes a stone. Oh well, I didn't really want/like cake anyway <<nose growing longer as I type this sentence>>
LOL!! 6!! YES!!! SIX!! Bridesmaids!! ...ranging in size from the juniorest FB who is a petite 6 to another bridesmaid who's not so petite!!
We like this one...Dress but don't know what it would look like on a 15 YO...
Can't help with the fashion question.
Perhaps we should have doing the triple column for next years event list spreadsheet?
Amadeus,
Have you learnt to swim yet?

Did somebody mention a list?
Now BK, before we sign up... how do we know that it wasn't the list that cursed. << tumble weed blows through the forum and somewhere a wolf howls>>
Of the people that had to drop out how many were on the list? Tell us the truth, we CAN handle the truth?
Until it can be proven there's no jinx-y stuff associated with the list I'll be staying off it thank you very much!
You see BK! You see...hah
ITB, 4 seconds... you must be just devastated...
I just hope that it hasn't turned you off marathoning. Just remember, be strong, we're all behind you

He did look pretty devestated in the pub afterwards. I think he spilt his first pint of Guinness as it vanished so quickly.
All the people I took off the list were already on Mr H's list before I took over. Therefore I think it is that list that is cursed.
Still not putting myself on it at the moment though. My target of 2.08 and a new course record might have people laughing too hard.
GFB - nice dress, I want one!
LR - your link has nice dresses too - ones that people might actually wear after the big day.
I've never been a bridesmaid
Ah well....
Nice bike Amadeus!
I've never been a bridesmaid either.
Ahhh, I do have some happy memories of bridesmaids tho, from my happy and carefree days
