Here's an idea.... to make this HM table a bit more relevant to the sub-3 thread perhaps we should split it into 2 divisions for sub-3ers and non-sub3ers? Or am i just asking for trouble?
It could be the only opportunity I get to top a league - as fastest HM by a non-sub3er!
Is anyone else actually marathon training at the moment? I've already started (actually started two days after Amsterdam), and yesterday did almost 14 hard miles in 90 mins (*distance being approx, not being a garmin sort of bloke).

Have added myself to list, but 3 factors to input into the Pugometer
- wasn't a PB - ran through 13.1 miles at Kingston 16 in March in 1:19:30 - was hammered in a Puerto Banus nightclub at 6am, only 27 hours before the gun went
Might do Stebbing 10 on Sunday. Have done it a couple of times before as a NY warm down. Could have a stab at knocking 1 second off my PB and going sub 1hr.
I'm doing some base work ala Hadd at the moment DanA. Keeping that going til the end of the year, and then starting to introduce some other sessions from Jan.
List mania Gobi?
Marathons 2008
Jan - Elb Tunnel - Gobi Apr - London - Gobi Apr - London - TT Sep - New Forest - TT Oct - Abingdon (if it's on) - TT Dec - Hastings (provisional) - TT
Oh, and I may be driving across Europe for a week or two next year, in which case I will possibly pick up one in either Czech or Germany
My NF prize arrived yesterday, quite a smart pottery mug. TT jr was quite taken with it, kept pointing at it and saying 'Nice' )
I'm currently base training, and have been for the past 3 months (following a very lazy summer where I did almost no running for three months). Running Brighton 10K on 18th Nov to see where I'm at, and will probably start marathon specific training from then on.
Also starting marathon training from 19/11. If only to get back on a certain list. This is the kind of schedule I have in mind - hopefully with a 3 weeks hard, one easy pattern:
M: 40, 60 T: 40, 5 x mile in 5:00ish W: 40, 90 T: 40, 12-16 x 400 (100) in working down from 67 - 68s (current) to 65 - 66s (spring) F: 40, rest or 40 S: 60, 40 with a couple of strides S: alternate 2hr with 60min tempo, 2.5hr slow, 2hr with 80min tempo and 2hr slow over 4 week pattern.
Jan - Elb Tunnel - Gobi Apr - Paris - PhilPub Apr - London EdB Apr - London - Gobi Apr - London - TT Sep - New Forest - TT Oct - Abingdon (if it's on) - TT Dec - Hastings (provisional) - TT
I've had half an eye on 'pre-schedule' training for a while now, logging a few 16 milers of a weekend, but when I get back from New York next week I'll have (a) no more weekend interruptions to training for the foreseeable future and (b) a nice new pair of lightweight shoes to break in with the first of my MP runs.

Must be honest, I am struggling to keep up with the thread (work keeps interrupting). However seems like bad weather has got in the way of good times at some races. Also big congrats to those who finished the Beachy Head marathon – much respect.
I have been battling with my HM monitor recently. Seems to start high (145 BPM) for first couple of miles and then drift down to about 130 BPM, and when I increase the pace it struggles to get back to 145 BPM. So having bought a new strap, I am starting to think the Garmin software is not working.
Also found out that my Amsterdam time has got me onto Athletics data (albeit at 407)…which is nice touch.

What happened to abusing Pug and knob gags ? Plus a bit of marafun training advice.
It's just base training madness TR. Once January comes we'll all be in a proper training plan and building up to FLM again.
Plus we can't be rude to Pug if he's not here and presumably not yet running or even talking about how fast he will be running.
Just off to do another spreadsheet (and possibly not even running-related)!
