I may be up for the Strawberry Gardens post race if I can get a shower and changed , the last time I was in there must be 30 odd years ago ( ouch ) and still dont remember who I insulted
Kwaka - have driven past many times o'er the passing years , but changes inside I would not notice . But somewhere in my warped memory it seems a pleasant place to be !
MD--I've been waiting for you to back in Strawberry Gardens! I haven't forgotten what you said!!
Muzzy!!--Apologies but i'm doing the Preston 10 on Sunday and so won't be joining you on Saturday. I'm looking forward to meeting you in a few weeks and Mort is also very excited about meeeting you again! She's having her hair done the day before the Stockport 10 and buying herself a new frock so that she looks nice for you.
stockport 10, stockport 10, hurrah for the stockport 10
PD - it was my 1st ever 10mile race 3years ago (am gutted I wont have 4 t-shirts, can you not make me one specially??). I had only ever run a max of 7 beforehand and did 1h 45m. watch out though, it leads you on to bigger and longer things . so I guess I also have to thank Stockport for getting me started. I have said it before and I will say it again, this is my fave all time race...love it love it love it
This man and woman were making love when the woman shouted " Oh my God ! my Husband is back ! get out quick ! grab your clothes and jump out of the window ! "
The man hurriedly jumps out of the window and falls in some bushes . As luck would have it , it started to rain . He sat there , wondering what to do when , a bunch of runners sped by . The man quickly jumped up and caught up them .
As he was running along with them one of them asked him " do you always run in the nude ?" The man answered , while gasping for breath " oh yes , it feels so free having the cold Stockport air blow over your skin while you are running " Then another runner asked , " do you always run carrying your clothes on your arm ? " The man answered , while gasping for breath " oh yes , that way I can get dressed at the end of the run and get in my car to go home ."
Then another runner asked " Do you always wear a condom when you run ?" " Well " he answered " only when its raining "
Actually I was lying, it's 71.42 minutes. (From many moons ago)
It was the Mizuno 10 mile at Erewash in Derbyshire, a nice flat one lap course (now defunct). Can't remember which year it was as I ran the race on 3 seperate occassions (late 1990s or 2000).
Not bothered about the hair colour but as I say, I would like to see her smile. She has a wonderful smile, it's just a pity she doesn't use it very often .
petedaddy - you'll have some company at the back, I've run 10 miles a few times and been between 1hr50 and 2 hours, but thats with *only* 450ft of ascent, stockport has 600ft I believe *gulp*
Just short of 650 entries now. It's looking quite likely that we might not have on the day entries at this rate. I will let everyone know for sure, but get those entries in to be sure.

keith - famous last words.....
I have now entered and I am so looking forward to seeing Morticia in her new frock.
Any idea what colour her hair will be this time?? It was purple last time I saw her....
More ST10 forms were handed out today!
Preston 10 results-
GBM - 1.03.12
jmc - 1.03.41
Jonah8 - 1.03.59
Still slower than my 10 mile Pb .
Mind you, that was about 15 years ago......(younger, thinner, faster etc.)
I think Mort in a nice floral frock perhaps in yellow should do it......
..and a smile would be nice.
Muzzy--I agree! Yellow is definitely Morts colour! What colour do you want her hair?
