We will all go to Paddock Wood marathon. The kids will do the fun run with hubby. We also have dvd screens in the car, so they can watch a movie and always plenty of crisps to keep on son happy.
Good plan Tracey G! - sadly I can't even get my other half to bring the kids to Hyde Park for the New Years race.... we only live a walk away! (well 45 minutes if the 4 year old walks...)
Cathy - No great, 27:44. My pb is 27:10 on the orginal course. They have a temporary one because of the Winter Wonder land and it finishes on a bl@@dy hill.
I would be mega-pleased with that time, I am slow! I don't do hills though so think I made the right choice in forgetting. We don't have to do hills on Tuesday do we?
Tracey G, I'm still coming on my own, I think the other half is going to take the chubsters to the zoo. I'm 'umming and ahhing' about Silverstone... done it once, it didn't really inspire me to be honest but I do have a bone to pick with the course... I know there are a nice group from the 'Great South Run' thread going - maybe I should go and be support!!!
Right off to find a suitable picture for my avatar and for my justgiving page... it wont be easy!
DD - please don't even think of backing out of Silverstone! We're all going cos you suggested it and it will be a brilliant chance for us all to meet up! Looking forward to it!
Also looking forward to Tuesday ... I think!! Couple of weeks worth of slothdom and Christmas excess to battle with, so I have mixed feelings about it! Don't think it will be the most 'comfortable' 10k I'll ever do ... and serve me right really!
SBS - Tuesday should be fun(ish), I'm not going hell for leather though as the pf is still sore... serves me right for running a bit too fast on Thursday, needless to say todays run didn't help either!
Sorry to hear your pf is still playing up DD . You're right to take it steady then on Tuesday and try and enjoy as much as poss.
I'm not going to be capable of going hell for leather myself, having only run on Boxing Day and that's all over the last couple of weeks... I'll be weighed down with all the extra food and alcohol!! (making my excuses early !) Never mind - I'll try and enjoy it as much as poss too!
Really didn't feel like racing this morning - a late night, alcohol and no speed training for two months not the best preparation. So glad we went though - it was great atmosphere, thank you to all the marshalls and race organisers - and I love my shoe bag, and the milkshake was great - perfect goodies! I've only done one 10k race - it was my first race 9 months ago, so I was likely to get a PB, and did even though my pace was slower than for my 10 mile race! 55.18 by my watch, 4 minutesfaster than my previous race, so happy with that - a great way to start the year and set a marker to beat in 2008.

He could take them to the Winter Wonderland in the park.
Good for you chocolate milk.

Cathy - It is not really that hill, just at the end of a 5k it is.

See you Tuesday!
Excellent DD - look forward to your text then. I'll text you when we arrive as well, then hopefully we shouldn't miss each other.
We're heading down to London now to start New Year celebrations fairly early - so ....
... good luck for tomorrow everyone and enjoy the race!!
Probably won't get a chance to post in the morning so to all the Serpies NYDers Good luck and 'Happy New Year'.

Happy running in 2008 everyone
Well done on your pb B.
I did it in 57:18 by my watch, not a pb but happy with my time. I hate that up hill finish, it is the 3rd time I have been up that hill.
