I must admit everytime I do a race about one third of the way through i think this will be my last race.but after i finish i always feel so good and then plan my next one.I would definately miss it badly if I had to stop racing having met such a nice bunch of people in the last two years.
Next one Matt maybe the whitford race in swansea tomorrow evening,if not dinas head in pembs on bank holiday monday.
I am living in pontardawe..Beginning to think I am the only mad woman here who enjoys getting out in this cool rain or actually getting out full stop. Well, I call it running, others may call it plodding, as far as I'm concerned, I'm with Sir Ranulph Fiennes whne he says the term jogging isn't recognised in the running community. Anyone else gonna enter the 7k in Abercrav?
Ok so here it is then the promised information. It may not be much of a challenge for you seasoned runners, but it ticks all the boxes fo me. Saturday 12th July. Its a fun run in aid of the Welsh Air Ambulance. From Dan yr Ogof Show shaves to the RFC in Abercrav. Adults £4, kids/oap's £2, BBQ and evening Disco at the RFC. Regoster on the day at the show caves at 2pm race at 3pm. I don't know much about the terrain but I'm thinking it's a fun run its gotta be flat.
Hello I am sort of in Wales, well in that bit of Herefordshire that sticks out into Wales (and should be Wales) between Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye
Ran the Big Black Mountains Challenge this morning before work... and because of the horrendous weather and bad visibility, managed to miss a checkpoint, having to double back and totalling 19 miles of bog, mud, and more bog and mud!!! Anyways, it was fun, allbeit a tat wet and pitty there was no visibility whatsoever...
If there is anyone ouot there who likes fell running and wants to go for some long runs, let me know
Me doing llanelli too, great race with just mild undulations.Good atmosphere and a lovely place to run.Did 40.40 last year hope to get under 40 this year
WP, I used to get injured loads and then turned to Mincing .
It allows me to be compettitive without the same injury risks, less impact. I know I bang on about it but it's kept me sane
Since taking it up 3/4 years ago I've competed at Senior inter counties level senior inter area level and won interantional vests at masters level for Welsh Athletics and Great Britain Athletics.
No hills in Llanelli, just slight inclines rarely. I ran the half, which was breezy on the day.
Sorry mate I couldn't mince..................maybe when Ive lost all respect for myself lol........that was only a joke please dont be offended!! My sense of humour often gets me into trouble.
