Hey guys. Afraid I live in Hillsborough so the taxi would be entirely out of your way, or at least I think I live in Hillsborough... let me just check the back of my hand!
Your all a bunch of freaks, Cake i can cook very well thanks but i am not sure my house would be the best venue for a social. I am up for all 4 of Simon's ideas but seeing as it appears i may be sharing a taxi with 2 women maybe i wont need number 4
Sorry if this is a bit off the subject of the thread but one of my friends has been offered a job in Sheff. It's based near Meadowhall and his girlfriend works in Worksop so he's wondering where's good in South/South East Sheff to live?
He's offered me a large glass of wine so I figured I'd ask you lovely lot on his behalf! Any suggestions?
You get shot in Nottingham, although I've worked here over 3 years and no-one has tried shooting me that I've noticed - as he lives in Derby he thinks it's brighter & cheaper up the M1!
Meersbrook, Woodseats and Heeley are alright areas in the south/south east-ish part of Sheffield to live in.
Meadowhall/Worksop is actually nearer the other end of the city - i think , towards the north (although my geography and general bearings are absolute rubbish, but this is at least what my colleagues are saying).
I obviously like Broomhill, Crookes and Walkley cos that's my neck of the woods, but not really in the area you're looking for...
It probably doesn't matter too much as long as he's near a tram route, but I guess if his girlfriend works in Worksop she might be using the car...
Get them to look at around crystal peaks, kimberworth (rotherham), and the little hamlets around and about the M1 for the south side if they can aford it. If they can push the boat out in terms of travel Go with Lady P because the Broomhill, Crookes and walkley area is the nicest area's the live in unless your loaded and can live in totley. Besically anywhere around Sheff is nice unless it's the Manor or woodthorpe (see police, camera, action for details)
p.s. I wasn't joking about police, camera, action used to have to live there
Nott's is a hell hole compered to Sheffield, we don't have crime like the other big city's of the north. Which is something I thank everyone for every waking moment.
Chesterfield is a nice place but it's a bit like league of gentleman in some ways if you get my drift. You might be introduced to some one's wife and sister and there will only be one woman there
Aitch can I borrow some cash off your Grandparents please ?
Not likely when they have 5 children, 5 son/daughter in laws, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grand children - I think they're saving for Christmas and birthdays all year round!!!
Honestly, Chesterfield isn't that bad. I have 2 brothers and I've yet to marry either of them!
But think your family is from over the border from Yorkshire? You have thumbs? Only joking anyone else reading this. My family is from Norfolk via Rugby so not a gene pool more a gene puddle. Right off home for footie
Hmm..... for Worksop they might as well live near the M1 and she can commute straight down the motorway - probably easier than travelling across any parts of Sheffield anyway! Try Ecclesfield, Chapeltown, Thorpe Hesley - all one way or the other off J35, one stop up from Meadowhall. If they really wanted to be on the south side, bits if Kiveton Park aren't so bad - near to the Rother Valley Park area.

Women drink halves not pints.......
I hope you're not referring to me Mr!
Why won't you need number 4 eh? Is it because you'll tell me your address and make sure we get you home safely?!
I start on pints but as I get drunker I swap to halves...............................or vodka!
Pints save queing at the bar!
Sorry i must rephrase:
Ladies drink halves (or wine) NOT pints
You are a lady Aitch and if KPO says different we'll tell the taxi driver he's paying.
I can't drink at the moment because of medication I've recently started taking.
But I tend to talk bollox regardless of whether I've drunk anything or not.
