Just signed up for 2010 GNR, and Great Yorkshire 2010.
Was emailed to say my winners prize from Gt Yorks was on way yesterday, got home last night and note through door saying packet/parcel needed signing for, so will have to wait for tomorrow, can't be trainers or clothing though as not had any contact for sizes. Please don't let it be another sports bag though. I got 2 last year for 3rd and 2nd in Sheffield and Manchester, one of which has yet to be used.
Still awaiting Gt North 10km prize ! Still it's only been 20 weeks now.
Rest day today after tough session yesterday, will hopefully have time for 2 or 3 easy miles in morning before going to the Rovers match at 12 ish. Might be a drink or two before the game. .
Queens Park Rangers tomorrow, it'll be a tough one as they are flying at moment.
Anyway - I'm dragging my fat ass of the injury bench next week to start running again. I've no idea if I can just launch back in after a stress fracture or if I have to do anything different?
If you must run, try a forgiving surface, maybe just a couple of laps of a footy pitch, thats what I did after my knee op. Treadmill useful too as you can just stop it and get off rather than be thinking of how to get home.
Cycling is a possibility. Far too much pain in my shoulder to swim at the moment. I have a doctor friend who said I need physio on it. She used a big long word to tell me what I'd done to it.
I just use "hurty"
I might go for the treadie if I'm desperate to stretch my legs!
Been looking at clothing for tomorrow, so far have 2 pair of shoes, 2 pair of sock 2 shorts, a vest, t-shirt, long sleeve top and a wind jacket, will be very much a mix and match morning
Andy, I only did 2 miles tonight and was boiling before I even got to 1. Bring everything obviously, but it's not really cold. The wind seems to be dying a bit and it's still raining lightly now, but anything can change!
LB, just take it easy. Possibly even run/walk for a couple of sessions until you're sure it's ok. You don't want to end up doing more damage (I know that smilie says secret, but it looks a bit like a hug ). Injury sucks.
I did Boston in cold wet and wind and wore a rain/wind jacket and to be honest if i hadn't have just spent $60 on it i would've thrown it after 2 miles, thinking that i could throw stuff aside after first lap if over dressed and still be able to reclaim it
To be honest I was a bit tired when I got home and was in bed by 10pm.
I went to pub after a very brief and strange "interview" with a guy from the Chronicle, then went to the North Terrace pub as my clothes were there, would've been rude not to try a couple so Kev (brother) and I had a drink and a roast beef sandwich before I came back to the cafe. I had the idea that the pub was main base and presentation/gatherings would be taking place there.

You need to have more nookie. Its good for the waistline so they tell me.
But I'm happily married so what would I know?
By then, it's too late.

Any suggestions?
Take it easy and go for a bimble?
Then see how it feels after a couple of miles hurty = stoppy

Thanks guys.
Very edgy first half at Rovers, but the boys came good in 2nd. 2-0 to Donny, well deserved and well needed too.
Did 4 miles earlier which hopefully cancels out the 5 pints this afternoon.
p.s Good luck .

Could double up to keep water out & store the other (to avoid any paula moments)
Congratulations *fanfare*
I've been randomly hopping around the threads tonight and just discovered that you won the race today?!?!
I assume that as you haven't made the announcement, you're in the pub celebrating/aching/drying out or all three.
He was in the pub within 10 minutes of finishing .
He was fantastic. I think he was driving back home so probably just knackered. Or in the pub .
Yeah, and he looked very strong when he came past me on lap 4.
I'm guessing there was much Guinness to be had by Mr Sly
