it has been known! Years ago i organised a biathlon which involved a climb up the dipper - all entrants [only about 40] were clearly told that a marshall would be at the top and would tick off thier number - the guy who came in 2nd didn't bother climbing, and was a bit shocked to be found out!

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE NOW FULL - NO MORE ENTRIES - SORRY IF YOU'VE MISSED OUT - WE DID WARN YOU!!!!
I quite like the bit at the top where you hang around for 5 minutes waiting your turn to get on the path to go doen. Its all one big warm huddle while you get your breathe back.
PH you really do want to do this one is a brillaint race
one advantage of me being injured for the last 2 months is that i have "bulked up" a little! Maybe if i wear a tuxedo and act as a bouncer by the bushes!
that guy with the metal leg is fast - never got anywhere near him!!
imagine a sand dune you can just about see the top of - then get to the top, and realise you're only 2/3rds of the way up - then get up the other 1/3rd, and realise there's a bit more - that's the dipper!!
however - the down is really areoplane arms stuff, and i find the 2nd hill harder over the common - but thats another story!!!
FF - you should be fine - don't think we are posting entries on the website as its a small team doing the race - if you mail me your details i cancheck for you - but it may take a day or 2

Phil, are you going to have beaters in the bushes at the top of the dune to chase cheating runners out of their hiding places ?
i shall be chief beater - and i will have a large pointy stick!!
we'll put some barriers up there this year - not fair to all those who patiently wait in line at the top!
pp - shoe change is a must - you will get wet!
PH, Have you entered yet ?
"we'll put some barriers up there this year - not fair to all those who patiently wait in line at the top!"
yes, the poor bastards hiding in the bushes at the top get cruelly inconvenienced by everyone who stupidly run up the dune !

Mr Phil
can you let me know if you can officially swap numbers for this one
PP, last year people were popping out of the bushes ten to the dozen. I could not believe my eyes !
I'd never felt healthier after 7 minutes into a 10k, standing at the top of the dipper in a queue.
I do recall somebody with one leg passing on the way down the otherside though!!

I really don't get the cheating. Folk are odd. Mind, I've never seen this giant sand dune so I may be staking out the bushes myself on the day!
Is it unbeliavably windy where everyone is right now? I can hear big gusts of wind outside then feel the draft on my legs inside!
sorry! just had a curry!

Mr Phil, that really is most inconsiderate!!
Ooook, Dipper sounds cool! I guess you run the rest of the race with sandy shoes then
Sand is the least of your problems
oh dear PP!!
you don't know about the sewage farm then???
Hi Mr Phil......
I posted a couple of entry forms late last week, not sure if they got there in time? Hopefully!??
Are you posting a list of runners on the Brackla website, how can I find out if my entry arrived.
Cheers
