Medal No 93 is safely in my clutches ... Julian Farrell Memorial 10K in Camberley and Frimley, a nice little no-frills race. And a very nice and big medal it is too.
Next up is the Eden Project Marathon, next Sunday, 11 October. Bring on those Cornish hills, I'm ready for them
Good on you, Muttley. Seven to go. After 100 completed, are you aiming for 200.
I`m considering attempting to beat my all-time number of races in a year record. 45 races in 1995. (I think!) Would love to do 50 but finding all those races might be difficult.
Muttley. Trust me 50 is hard work. I have run between 30-40 races per year. My PB of 45 was mainly done because I had more races in the winter. In the summer, I had 2 sometimes 3 races in a weekend. Once upon a time I had a race at 11am and then off to the next one at 2pm. Loads of fun.
Problem is depending where you live is finding the races.
Your 100th must be a biggie. We can hold a celebration is your honour.
Wahey ... the Eden Project marathon done and dusted in a surprisingly good time. Man, that was a brutal course in foul weather so I really had to work for medal number 94.
But what a medal it is - about the size of dinner plate and shiny enough to shave by.
I dread to think how much this has cost if I ever get to tot it all up. But it doesn't matter really because every time I go to a race it's a nice day out in pleasant surroundings in good company.
That pasty didn't last long, Mr K ... and they gave us a free beer at the finish as well!
Well hello Mr K ... I trust you're fine and well and had a good Crimble.
Medal No 95 will be at the Lakeside in Frimley, which I do believe is in your neck of the woods
In for the Wokingham half, Goring 10K, Water of Life half and Bracknell Half and have my eye on the Maidenhead 10, Stockley Park 10K and Frimley Park 10K although may not do all of them.
Been a real dearth of medal-bearing events since the Eden Project marathon, nothing doing at all. There is the Goring and Woodcote 10K on 10 January but I'll be away for that one (mate's birthday pissup oop north). I also decided a while back not to risk the Knacker Cracker, thinking it wouldn't be great if the weather is wintry ... probably just as well.
But barring injury I should hit the target ... just!
Loving this thread............and will be watching with interest in the New Year to witness the handing over of the pocket money!!! Love it!!! Bet Jnr wishes he'd never thought up this challenge let alone voiced it!
I have just draped the gong round the large plush Muttley in the living room and Junior has as always feigned disinterest. But the excuses and retrospective conditions are coming thick and fast so I know he knows he's on a loser
I was worried about cancellations due to the snow but barring another cold snap or a broken leg I'll be home and dry soon ...
Muttley - Mr.K. and I were at an event this morning and we saw a medal of the highest quality craftsmanship ever, which was supported by a solid gold hand engraved chain. It was better than any Ultra, or Great Wall Marathon medal i've ever seen.

I couldn't get it for you as Mr.K. told me i had to leave it round the Mayor's neck.
Haven't really thought about what to do next, BM. Apart from rest my aching legs.
So far it looks like the Bracknell Half might bring up the ton. I'm trying to make up an extra two because two of my medals are for a five-mile race and the terms of the bet are min distance of 10K. We did kinda agree that these two would be counted in but Jnr is hunting desperately for excuses. Depends on how it goes, but I've already got all my races entered and paid for.
Medal No 96 is safely won and already round the floppy-eared sniggering hound's neck.
That's the Wokingham Half done and dusted and in a surprisingly good time - sub 1:45, haven't done that in a while. My legs are talking to me right now, and a power nap on the sofa is definitely on the cards.
Next up is the Goring 10K, next Sunday. Bring it on!

That sounds like a good challenge, runnerman ... 50 in a year. Might consider that as a follow-up.
Cut-off date for this challenge is May next year. Nothing doing in November or December but barring injury I'm reckon I'm pretty much home and dry
Ah, greetings Mr K ... good to see you this morning. You were remarkably compos mentis given your nocturnal exertions
I trust you are well slept and rested now?

How did the Royal Parks go, Foxy?

When`s medal No. 95 Muttley?
Only asking as I do not want to miss a local race

Good luck, I've only just started doing races in the last year or so so maybe 2010 will be a year when I can do some collecting.
Yay! After a three-month drought it was the Lakeside 8 in leafy Frimley this morning so medal No 95 is in the bag.
Next up is the Wokingham Half.

Lady Wot Jogs - you made me laugh there.
Muttley what will you do once you've reached 100 - apart from hold a big bash?
What is going to be race 100? or even race 101!
Haven't really thought about what to do next, BM. Apart from rest my aching legs.

It was indeed a lovely medal
Entered Bracknell the other day - a bargin of an event.
