JF5, I agree 100% with you, it would be nice to make my own mid up on that one.
I can't believe everyone has given up already without any official word from RW. If we all gave up this quickly in our chosen races, no one would ever finish
It's Friday evening and as you might have already guessed, we've now spoken to the 40 people who make up this year's ASICS Super Six longlist.
Commiserations if you didn't get 'the call'. I'd like to thank you all for your applications - we were impressed by the quality and quantity and it took us hours to narrow it down to just 40 runners to take to the Selection Day.
We'll be revealing the shortlist after next weekend's Selection Day, and we hope you'll support them and help us choose the final Super Six by voting for your favourites in the final stage of this year's selection process.
Gutted. I'm not a prolific poster but i do love to run, the chosen few are very lucky people i hope you all have a great day in brum and to the final six I hope you have a fantastic journey from now to the finish line on april 10th. all the best .
I'm gutted to be missing out on the pro training, but i have a place at Paris anyway my medical cert. is in and my accomodation is booked and paid for so still looking forward to the race, and my own training plan. wether it will be good enough to get me my sub 3 only time will tell. Club 10k tomorow so happy days.
Hear, hear KK. After missing out in the ballot for London yet again I decided that if I thought I could run a marathon then I should just go and do one so I entered Robin Hood instead.
We shouldn't be too disappointed, just think how gutted the 34 boot campers will be that don't make the chosen six. I followed last years super sixer AndyV on the sub4 forum, and it helped me hit my 3:59:06 sub4 target, so I'll be following them again this year. Hopefully around 3:30 but probably around 3:45 for a spring mara. Kittenkat: 3:10 sounds v.impressive and without sounding sexist, for a female. Was there a super sixer last year round that sort of time, I can't remember? I consoled myself by going for a run this evening, using the rejection as added impertus Si
no phone call here either, but I got a box of Hotel Chocolat chocs today
and whoever posted about the P&D schedules - although I would have loved to have been picked, I was fretting a bit about having to stick to a RW schedule which for 3.45- 4 hours would most likely be not enough miles for me
KK - I thought you'd have way more chance, being a speedy woman - loads in my category - the most common I'd think
I had totally forgot about phone call Friday, and just looked through here.
Not at all surprised as I made the point last year that the organisers appeared to have chosen "soft" targets though in the end most missed their goal. As was the case last year I had 2:45 as a target and this seemed to be too quick for RW, and seemingly wasn't a supported time zone for any of the super 6,
I'd be very surprised if there was a 2:45 this time round.
Well some of the people that have ben posting on this thread certainly are well qualified in terms of RW activity, so you've got to hope the people they have selected are pretty special and not as Andy S says "soft" targets picked to fit the schedules.
as its going to a vote they will have one catergory with all new people in so that at least one newbie will be picked..........
If you want to be chosen you would do well to be on fetcheveryone because they will do a campaign for you there so that the fetchies will come on here and vote and therefore greatly increase your chances...........
and don't be too quick because they know you will pick their schedules apart
Yep, we should just wait to see what happens. The fact is, their old schedules were good enough to get the participants through in the required time anyway (as was proven) and I'd have followed them if it meant I got the opportunity to be part of the scheme.

Little Ninja, your post has disappeared
I guess we at least know somebody is watching our chat, even if its not PC to post somethings!
Its all in the name ......
must keep trying !!!
Joddly I'm sure you mean well but perhaps we would have liked to have a go like you did.
Its a bit like asking rich people if they think money can make you happy

You know that bit where they asked about what your weaknesses are?
I took delivery of 2 cases of wine yesterday and a box from Hotel Chocolat today

Andy,
It will be interesting to see who got through and what their times are. And how long they have been member of RW !!
