Paula Radcliffe has had to pull out of the Manchester 10k as she has bronchitus. It is uncertain whether she will be fit enough to compete in the London 10k, which is 2 weeks later. This will be a setback to her preparations to obtain the qualifying standards for the 2012 Olympic Marathon.

If you were Paula's coach what advice would you give her?
The help she has is far more expert than anything I could offer but......
I'd tell her to make as much as she can from appearance fees etc and then enjoy her retirement.
More expert advice
London 2012: I just see her crying by the side of the road at mile 20 with the British press sharpening their pens.
I fear by then everyone would have forgotten how great she was at her best.
Mystic Meg and Russell Grant i do believe
Banter darling
Everyone acknowledges her class we're just opining on her current state / likely future. I wouldn't class it as knocking her at all.
I can appreciate the effort and commitment she's made over the years, acknowledge the great heights she's acheived, but, still really find myself not liking her very much and don't really care if she comes back. I've read her book and personality wise, she just doesn't do it for me. She does look good in a pair of leggings though
Paula got a lot to prove to get into team GB. She will need to run a marathon to qualify the
standards set. UKA have made it clear those who qualify will be available for selection
into the team. So there's no guarantee Paula will be in the Olympic team. Despite history,
wins, records, national icon. Means absolutely nothing come 2012.
I will be surprised Paula will not be in. But she has stuck a few noses up at UKA for
pulling out of the British team in previous championships.
