Leg is doing v well thankyou. Out of my splint - walking on it a bit hobbly, but better than I thought I'd be. Can't do anything twisty though, and running is a few weeks away. Still, I can keep exercising on the bike or maybe ski machine so I can't really complain.
Loved your hamper story ! Can you sue mini barkles for that - 'Had an accident - not your fault ?' ;-)
Can someone help, this is the first time i have applied for the marathon. My entry fee cheque has been debited from my bank account.....Does this mean what i think it means (i didnt tick the bequest my entry box on the application form)????
A friend of mine at FLM says that if your cheque is cashed and you didn't bequeth it congratulations are in order and you will be at the start line on 13th April. For those of us the bequethed and have had thier cheques cashed we have to wait until December.
This years refusals were a bit of a mess, really mucked up our club Christmas do, as the ones who wanted the club places didn't know if they wanted them or not (?), at least with the information we now have about cheques being cashed etc, we might be a little more in the picture!
Any ides anyone ? I cannot remember if I bequeathed my fee or not. Nothing thus far in account to show, This will be my 4th attempt through the ballot ? surely this year. Any thoughts if 4 times is normal or maybe even more ? I will do for a charity anyway but would like my own place one year at least !
I am eagerly awaiting too, cheques been cashed but we bequeathed so!!! Last year I am pretty sure we received our acceptance on the last Wednesday in November, so that would make it next Wednesday, heres hoping????
OK - can anyone tell me do they sent out the acceptance mags and letters before the rejection ones? I have a feeling they tell the fortunate before letting slip the bad news to the remainder but I may be wrong?
I'm still hoping that this year I might just be lucky, fingers crossed and all that (well you have to be optimistic!!)
Ashley - I think I need to take a weeks holiday and delve into the dark side. I need to find out what happened at the showdown in the forest with the Black Queen and the countryside alliance. With a dial up - it's hopeless !
I think both lots go out about the same time give or take Charly ?
Charly, Unlike Cougie I'm pretty sure you'll find out if you're in way before those who are rejected. In our club last year there was 3 to 4 weeks difference. Doesn't follow that it'll be the same this year though. That has certainly been the pattern though over the past two years - don't know about it before then as that's when I started running.
I'm not sure exactly when people will hear and last year I know there were lots of people who didn't hear till quite late December cos of problems with the post (although if you called after 1st week of December they can tell you). Technically or the official line is you're sposed to hear by the middle of December at the latest.
In 2000 I got my acceptance letter on 30 Nov. I decided to run for MS (the main charity that year) and called them the same day. They told me I was the first one to call who had got an acceptance letter. My husband got a rejection letter one or two weeks later. Just think, if history repeats itself people could start getting their acceptance letters in just 8 days. *boggle*
Cougie. Take another week off and read what happened in the Dark Side this afternoon. Starting with a towel fight and finishing in the shower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ashley, thats pretty normal really, wait until after the frolic...... thats when it;'ll really take off. Hildy started with the towels, the shower is a weekly activity.
I have heard they will be sending cnfirmation to the accepted runners, starting Monday 25 November and the rejected runners the first week of December. Fingers crossed!!!!!
I'm getting nervous! I guess this nervous energy might help in running the leicest 1/2 tomorrow, but right now I just want to know whether I'm in or not. This is like waiting for exam results (or a dentists appointment).

I'm just too excited now then. I get Broadband at home next week plus a possible FLM confirmation ? Ay Caramba !!!
Fingers crossed for everyone !
Broadband is great, it helps keep up to speed with some of the speed of these threads

I've as yet to try and make any sense of the Dark Side
Last year I found out I was in a week before my neighbour found that she wasn't
Fingers crossed.

That is tomorrow.
I have to work, and I can not sit in front of my letterbox for two weeks, waiting for one letter.
