I ran last night, didn't have to think of an interval session for COLT, as the 5 that turned up were all Lanza finishers, so we just want for a steady social few miles along the river. Great fun.
Won't get any training in over the weekend as I'm off to Andover in Hampshire early doors on Saturday. Special guest at a sprint triathlon there on Sunday, starting/commentating/talking/ giving out medals etc.. Each finisher gets a copy of the book as well, hence why I'm invited.
Might try and ride a loop or two of the Bolton course the weekend after. Fancy an outing?
Might be up for that, Have to be Saturday tho as I'm taking Suzie to see Coldplay on the Sunday (rather than try and drown her at Bala)
I have a funny story about the book....
Sam is now living in Telford with her man Matt. Not sure I ever said, But for some strange reason she changed her surname when she was 18 to Emerson (she stuck a pin in the phone book, honest). On Sunday night one of Matt's best mates turned up and said "I have just done a triathlon".... Why they asked.. His answer ? "Cos My Mum bought me this book for Christmas and I was inspired !"...
Yep, And we all know what book that was ! Sa m had to explain that her Dad was the Dave in it, and she is the Sam in "The Spartan Crew"....
They are now trying to get him to enter an Ironman
She has nicked his copy of the book (said she hadn't got one.. liar), and wondered if we could all sign it when we hook up at the Outlaw... Said I could sort that.
Right, will double check with Em that we've nothing on. Early morning would probably suit but will email after this weekend is out of the way. Be good to see you, and Min/Viking if a) physically allowed to and b) can find his bike ?
Shame on us! Mad busy bank holiday weekend - took my RTO course, so I can now officiate at OW events, did some working, did some biking, did some more swimming without wettie - do like that - and generally did quite a bit of sleeping!

Now you're talking.....
Ironman Walney has a certain ring to it
True, but it would be very flat and fast, and I wouldn't get lost.
There is that Mate
The sodding cold is back big time.... temperature and sniffles. Just when I was hoping to get a big training weekend in....
Bugger - hope it goes away quickly.

Saturday morning would probably suit me as well, may be a couple of other COLTs as well. Try and get it sorted next week.
Priceless, love it.
Never expected our story to actually inspire people to do a traithlon/ironman so it's always very cool when I hear that it has.

Sat 9th would be good...
Yeah sounds like a good idea.

Just checked and I'm free Sat am 9th, early always better that later (Critérium du Dauphin on Eurosport in pm)
Cool - will get back to you, hope you can remember the route
Err.... Nope I erased it from my mind as soon as possible...
Might find 5 minutes to stick it in my mountain garmin so I can stick it on the handlebars
the other COLTs that might be coming did it last year and are doing it again, so we should be ok.
another night of bunged up head and nose.... aaargh
Did manage a gentle 5 miles round the village last night tho....
Morning,
The run sounds good, the cold doesn't.
I went swim training, v.tough set. 12 x150m reps with rolling recuction in recovery down from 2 minutes to 10 seconds.
Got cramp at the end. It hurt. I swore.

We are indeed, Holgs - could we perhaps do a trend that centers around me earning lots of money?
