Nursey missed a newbie opportunity today with WW on the clipless vs. straps thread, i'm hoping she might go back and redeem herself
yep but only if you do proper free weights... not that silly resistance machine stuff, you'd be better off just staying on the bike
Squats (every variation) including Pistol Squats if you're hard enough and deadlifts, will also build core strength like no one's business. Add in shoulder press, bench and pull ups and you're a machine....
when I get my ass back into some sort of order this is what i will be doing in prep for IM with the discipline training
Nursey I would say yes but then mine were not that strong anyway ... I found that upper body weights helped with swimming as well, that said if you are going to the gym then use it for good core work as well

Evening all.. Don't remember signing up for an IM next year but never mind. I'm sure I would have eventually.. It was drink that got me into this whole triathlon business in the first place!
Any excuse to buy new stuff, bikes, wetsuits, etc, the possibilities are endless

Question - any benefit to be gained in cycling by going to the gym and doing weights to strengthen my legs?
