My name's Nurse Ratched and I'm a 41 year-old guy, 6'3", 20 stone. Hobbies include eating bacon, drinking wine and squeezing myself into unfeasibly tight lycra.
45 min bike & 20 min run brick for me. First run since Sunday.
Calfs feel a lot better thanks to advice from a nurse & my calf compression things came yesterday. Wiggle including a free sachet of energy drink concentrate too.
Just got a text from royal mail, apparently Olympics tickets will be delivered today
Y'know, gas, I think you should leave the pic as it is. The whole sillhouette look adds an air of mystery. And has shades of the opening titles of 'The Professionals'
North sea swimming is not to be recommend I think I managed ohh a bout 4 meters before my wetsuit filled up and I sank. Upside is I must be skinnier than I was last time I tried it.
One real worry though is I have reynards so loose the feeling in my hands and feet very easily. But am I right in thinking that on the swim you have to have bare feet and hands?
I ran last night like a snail in quick drying cement, it was not fun.
I don't name my bikes, one is the ROO and the other is the Giant, because that's who made them.
I used to have a professionals spy kit when I was a kid, it was great, had a badge and everything. I used to pretend I was Brodie, and dive over sofas and shoot people. See I was well grounded from an early age.
AliBear - my mate does Ironman races ( doing Celtman this weekend ) ans suffers really badly with reynards. He has a medical note, contacts race organisers, and if the water temperature is below a certain level he's allowed to wear his neoprene gloves and socks.
Just back from my first ever brick. Just a wee one to see how it would feel, but I have to say I quite enjoyed it. Oooh, the jelly legs is a strange sensation!
Had forgotten to charge my Garmin, so relied on bike computer. Bike loop: 9 miles / 36min. T1 (lol) 1 minute. Run: 2 miles / 19 min.
Now I need a hot shower, coffee and cake.
I got one big positive out of it. As most of you know, I have been quite nervous on the bike following an unsuccessful gravel surfing experiment last year. I have avoided biking in the rain as it was braking on a wet road that caused the tumble. Today, however, I H'dTFU and went out in the rain (stinging rain & wind). And I was absolutely fine. 'S all good.

Nicely done Nurse
Nurse - Great effort. Question (probably stupid - sorry): did you wear your running shoes on the bike?
Good work Nurse. Got mine to do this evening. Nice & wet here in Norfolk.
Alibear, you should have come to open water swimming at Whit lane last night. Was quite warm.
Thanks guys.
Not a stupid question at all. No, I changed shoes between bike & run.
Well done Nurse.
Thanks Boss
