RBM interval training for speed, you got to teach the body to run/ cycle fast , if you start feeling sick during the session, you've got it right ( PM me if you want some sessions)
10km road race today, the back wasn't very happy but we got there in a not to shabby time. I'm going to watch the cycling (and probably inspect the inside of my eyelids) and go out later for another run, i seriously hate marathon training!
RP basically thats what i thought i sm no stranger to intervals when doing trsining for shorter stuff and will be doing lots of short sharp stuff over winter, I am a bit unsure how to carry that over into IM training proper as i am concious i need to be able to recover ready for the next session
Did a 1.35 ride fri. 1.45 ride today first bike since I did the slateman Tri in May need to lose 2 stone for IM France June my first IM really nervous since I hit enter button got a torn Achilles sine mid July started back running this week feels ok another run planned tues/weds then if ok will plod slowly round Cardiff 1/2 on Sunday will keep you all informed.
Pleased to be allowed back to exercises again. 1hr swim session and 3hrs bike with cake stop competed can't believe how much bike fitness I've lost though.
RBM I do my Intervals as a stand alone session or if going long, I do the interval session 1st then do a run or cycle at IM pace, it helps to reduce the DOMs and you won't miss out on a longer session.
Thats the way to go Mathschick .. and also, dont look at the top, just stay 'in the moment' as they say and it will come to you. Ive tried it and it works, if you look at the top your brain will tell you that its never coming, look down a tad and tell your brain you are nearly there

Kate there are much faster pirates than me around just to show how experience counts my first time was 13:40 good luck with your race and don't forget keep moving forward if you feel like crap it does pass never quit keep positive and.....have fun
Ah, great stuff. All the best with it Kate, i'm sure you'll smash it after all the training you've been doing. Think of all that Rioja waiting for you at the end..... mmmmmm
There's a steep hill near my house. I have tried to get up it several times in the last two months and every time I have resorted to getting off and walking and generally feeling pretty useless.
Today I made it to the top without stopping - my sock is feeling pretty full right now. Still a long way to go before I get the Strava KOM, but I'm pretty happy with myself.
Nice one mate which hill was it? your near me I think so can confirm to the rest that it's actually probably a mountain tecnically.
My sock hasn't gone to plan this month managed a few races but been to lazy to get the training in I planned. D- for the month I think.

Thanks, my mantra is there is red wine at the end, keep moving towards it.
Good effort under the circumstances Chris.
Kate - a very wise mantra.

Ghostess .. does that succession of quotes mean that you are doing Cardiff as well ?!
I am not sure what plans we have as yet, we are there for the weekend as part of a hen doooo

my sock was really poorly on Sunday so I had to stay in the hotel and look after it. Marathon missed. Gutted.
Oh HC .. that is a bit pants
How very annoying
It was a very literal 'shit happens' but there you go. Got Beachy in a couple of weeks so the sock (angry glare) can redeem itself
