9xx's sound good Meldy and glad to hear you're feeling better hope.
Kate, I've gone Paleo. I know its kind of trendy and also frowned upon but I find it works really well for me.
I do include carbs from fruits, vegetables (although not potatoes) and dairy and I do eat beans and peanuts. But shun all refined carbs such as bread, sugar, pasta and grains. And I won't eat or drink anything with artificial sweetner in it.
The best part is there are no limits to the amount of food eaten - I try to focus on just eating to satisfy appetite, not cram as much food in as possible. Without those carb addictions, its much easier to achieve this.
Weight loss has been slow (I've averaged 1lb a week) but it has been consistent.
I have just printed off my rota until the end of June and am plumbing in my long bikes so I know where I need to be et.c ... thats quite scary!!
June will consist of Bala and an 80 ish the following weekend May will consist of 3 x 100 April will consist of 3 x 80 March will consist of 3 x 60 Feb will consist of getting up to 60 miles for March !!
Obviously other sessions will be done in the interim days but for long sessions thats pretty much it !
Where has everyone gone? I've just had a week in Austria with potato and beer, ran and T25ed every day with nothing else available which will mean a poor marathon performance on Sunday. Outdoor lido swim tomorrow, thank god with a wetsuit or I would sink.
Hopefully back on track then Cat, slowly does it. 1K outdoor swim for me yesterday, bloody freezing but a beautiful day for it, same again in 2 weeks and I shall try and go a little further. Marathon today, then I have got to sort my diet out next week and try and shift some timber.
Oh indeed it was, next session 8 March, get involved! Marathon today, bloody windy. paced a friend to the end so not a great time but a lovely run. Now terrified about my first IM in June on the same course, very hilly but already an excuse for a slow time I suppose. Good or bad on the numbers Cat?
Well you have enough running under your belt. How's the biking?
HR numbers neither good or bad, just indicative of 6 weeks off. Any effort caused an instant peak in HR. Luckily with MTBing there is enough of a down after most ups to recover.
Some did leave me gasping for air whereas I'd have been up them like a ferret up trousers before.
I have a long bike pencilled in for a week saturday I think, longish one tomorrow but that will be on mountain bike so more of the quantity rather than quality !
Sunshine, mmmm, and probably plenty of vitamin C from the oranges. Meldy, it's all about the socks. Cat, evenings are a lot lighter now, won't be long before I can venture out of the garage/spin studio before and after work on a real life bicycle. Track tonight, 9 miles with 5 x 1K, swam and double T25ed this morning. Sock is bulging in funny places after Sunday's marathon, I have an inflamed fat pad on my patella apparently, what hope is there for me if the fat in my knees is expanding of its own accord?
An hour and a halfs run then straight into a mile swim i am actually beginning to enjoy pool swimming so my initial aim for my sock stuffing may yet happen

Nice one HC!
The slower it goes off the less likely it is to come back again HC

Watching and waiting!
Had a false start last week but ready to ease back in next week.
That's Good news IC5.
Hopefully so!
Last week I ran with my club and struggled the day after

Crazy swimming outdoor!
Family parkrun yesterday, nice and easy. 3hrs (30km) on the MTB today. I saw HRM numbers that I'm not used to seeing.
Spent that afternoon at the local running/bike track watching eldest go roundandroundandround with the jnr tri club.

70 miler next Sat, bugger all last week with work stuff, turbo and spin otherwise. Needs improving!

At least you're back on it Cat and it's lovely to see you back.
Just back from Seville. Lovely city. And there was sunshine and everything. Bliss, complete bliss.
Thanks HC.That was some bling you brought back with you!
I saw sunshine, then ran in the dusk. Limited myself to 150bpm for a 30min run.
Slow progress will see you right Cat
I did a couple of hours over the hills on the mtb, my socks were nice and dry with thanks to sealskins ... my shoes are soaking

Nice morning run. Better than the other day.
There may be something in this slow easy aerobic running lark...
Note to self, stay away from thin air, like aircraft flights or mountains.
50/10 brick session in the gym and 30 mins with weights and core stuff
actually I lied, it was 55/10
Soggy socks
Yuk.
45mins run in the Liechtenstein sun pre-brekkie. Now back home in the murk and gloom.
Double spin and a three mile run. Back on it. Hopefully I'll get the sock wet tomorrow morning before work.
Bicycle dusted down and 70 miles done. Forgot my overshoes so had purple feet for much of the day.
An hour and a halfs run then straight into a mile swim i am actually beginning to enjoy pool swimming so my initial aim for my sock stuffing may yet happen
