Thanks Shades, all of a quandry now! I'll leave my Premier Travel Inn for now, but if everyone goes to the Travel Lodge, and there's people staying on Sunday, I'll change it.
I have just checked the Travel Lodge Shades near the postcode you gave and the Leicster Central at the moment is £26 per night paid in advance. I have the Travel Inn booked at the moment as I thought most folks going there but would happily change as its half the price if book now.
Little Lizard have you booked the Travel Inn Central?
Ok Little Lizard. I too have Travel Inn booked for 2 nights. If others are going to book Travel Lodge I will change. I think Limper has booked Travel Inn. Need to find out if it is the central one she has booked.
Just entered me and Mr J - his first marathon, and the start's only a mile from where he grew up & his folks still live. It seems just too perfect, so no doubt events will conspire against us, but at the moment it's really exciting! we're doing Nottingham (full trying for a GFA time for me, and half for him) as a warm up. Fingers crossed.
Gosh, just joined th forum, scary stuff you guys - me just want a fat - sorry glat - oops flat fast marathon in the autumn - trained for the grizzly in march but that was cancelled - now scheduled for 9/9 - day b4 me bday!! ha ha!!
Rill.- Last year will have very little resemblance to this year.- (The results are on their website).- But the course is very different, and the fact that Abingdon is cancelled means that Leicester will be much bigger this year.
If the course risk assessment is rubber stamped by the council at the meeting on Tuesday 15th then details will be released within a few days of that, including a course profile.
Entries seem to be going quite well even though people don't know the course yet and can only enter online through Runners World, over 100 in the first few weeks.
Oh bloomin great - NOT! Another crowded marathon, I went for Leicester after Abingdon was cancelled, and going on last year's numbers, even if all the Abingdon people went to Leicester, I hoped it wouldn't be much over 1000 entrants.
LL, 3000 is still a LOT smaller than FLM!!! And ambient air temperature should be on your side by October. I too would really love to sub 3:30, and am still waiting to see how flat/undulating the new course is before signing up....how sad is that?! Did you opt out of Tewkesbury in the end?
Blisters, 3 marathons?? You'll be catching Hippo up ..... by the next millenium:-)
RB, yeah suppose you're right, me and my damn targets. We're as bad as each other!!!
I did opt out of Tewkesbury, much to the bemusement of my Harrier clubmates. Did a steady 13 miles at my own pace on the Saturday instead. I thought one of two things would happen, I'd either do a steady run and not be happy with my time, or push myself for a decent time before I'm ready. And you think you're sad?!
Shame there won't be an RW pacer at Leicester, we could do with one!

Anyone else booked yet?

I know I'll miss it but I've got different plans this year.
..didn't mean to cause a riot on the hotel bookings for Leicester!!
Speedy, why not see how for the Traveloge is from the Travel Inn. They might just be yards away!

Yep, I'm planning to do it.- But I want to find out more about the course profile first- sad pb chaser that I am.-
Anyone know when the course details are going to be released?

Bob Budge2 - will there be an entry limit?
But also lurking on the IOM thread.
Threat of 3 marathons this year shock horror.
3000 is quite a big number BB2. Much more than previous years.
Chance of sub 3:30 slipping away methinks....
