Dont worry Seoul man I will reserve you a place wouldnt want you missing out
Jellybabe no problems with entry places we ususlly have some entries available on the day.
I am still waiting for some leaflets from the event sponsor before I can start sending out race packs so please be patient. If they have not arrived this week I'll start sending numbers out anyway.
Ahhhhh! I ran this last year and it was such a lovely run. . Good memories. I don't know why more people don't enter.
So tempted to enter this year but not been running much this year and have lost a bit of confidence. Hard to say where I will be running wise come September. Have I definitley got 4 hours to finish?
lorra I havent run as much this year, maybe 10 miles a week, but have entered and set up a training plan to hopefully follow and get a bit fitter. I am aiming for 3-3.5 hrs
Ladies, it is a fantastically enjoyable run. Don't however be deceived in any way, it is hard. But that is what makes finishing so special. Give it a go, you will love it and you will also be so proud of yourselves at the end
I am quite tempted by this one following the fantastic support I received from the club during my first ever marathon last year, and with a 4 hour cut off, I might just scrape through. I know it is hard to predict, but, in general, how much slower do people run compared to their road times? That said, it sounds like actually finishing it will be an achievement in itself!
Please do enter the 4 hour cut off is not really a cut off. its just an indication that if you are outside that time you will most likely be re directed onto the lower prom in parts where the tide will be back in.
Running Splat It is very difficult to say how much time to add to your road runs a lot depends on where you train. If you regularly run off road on soft mud or sand and trails maybe only 15 minutes but if all you training is on road or worse one of those gastly treadmill things then I would say maybe as much as 30-45 minutes.
Sorry if anyone is eagerly awaiting their number. work and my own training commitments have got in the way a bit and I am of on my summer Hols this Friday so all race numbers will begin going out when I'm back from sunning myself on the 15th August
Yay peeps enter this one - its a real challenge and the race memento is cool! Might be joining Hells Bells who is tail end Charlie this year and use it as a training run for Hastings!
i have just had a few days by the beach and have been practising running on the sand. wet sand is ok but dry sand is quite energy zapping as your feet sink and then slide as you push off. i didnt run too far on the sand but it does slow you down
Did a training run for this one by running from Mokdong to Yonhuidong by running along the Hongjecheon river...
This weekend I have a "Stadium Run" pencilled in. It starts at Jamsil - the Olympic stadium - and finishes just outside Hapjeong - at the World Cup stadium ... that will be about 25km along the Hangang (river) ... it is only 32 degrees at the moment so things are cooling down a bit here.
One week of teaching left and two weeks of the "Seoul dream" remaining before the flight home via Singapore.
I feel woefully under trained. the holiday season hasnt helped, my friend who I train with and have press ganged into running this has had different weeks away than me. so while we have both run we havent done the long distances.
still beach training for me next week, then hopefully get 3 long runs when back at work
I really want to do this race, looks great. However I will have to get there by public transport (from London)- is that do-able? What time does it start?
Harri its a 9.30 start and the start area is only a 5 minute walk from Margate train station. So providing there is a train connection for you it should be do able.

The clue is in the title...
Do you need to be a quick runner?
Is it on sand?
Just checking...
If I did a postal entry from here it would arrive the day after the race!
I will enter when I return to home-soil...
...or should I say 'sand'?
