Nearly died in spin this morning. Big pool of sweat on floor round bike, but genuinely I was slumped over the front at the end which could explain how I got through a litre bottle of water in the 40 minutes. Averaged 175bpm and legs were totally shot. I will not be impressed if the scales don't show something starting with 17 on Tuesday AM.
Ankle was a bit stiff first thing. Hopefully willbe OK tomrrow, and in that case I was thinking about trying for a 5k gentle jog instead of the intervals.
Well I don't seem to be losing anything at all. In fact quite the reverse - must be the bodypump and increased mileage. Clothes still fit the same so it cant be fat
another 3 pounds gone this week bringing my loss to 10 pounds lost this month. not as much as i wanted to lose but i'm happy with it. nice to be losing weight rather than putting it on. nice to be training again consistently after an 18 month rest.

Still a good week for you JD.........3/4 lb lost here.....I know what you mean about wanting to have lost more but I am snacking a bit as the training is making me hungry..... still its coming off slowly not going on..........and as i said yesterday.......I feel slimmer .
75.0kg on Jan 1st, 73.6kg this morning, Though I´ve done no training this week as have quite a bad case of man flu. Training is not going well.I´ve had to write this week off completely, hope to be better by Monday, getting a bit fed up with the constant lurgey since x-mas.
Yayy, I ran 5k on the treadmill today. Ok, took me nearly 30 minutes , but as 1 week ago was first run for best part of a year then not bad. Also some weights and whilst weight loss may be a little slow then I'm certainly looking a little less like the monster from Ghostbusters.
So this week has been:-
Mon: Spin class
Tues: intervals on the treadmill followed by some core & weights
Weds: slightly harder intervals followed by some core & weights
Thurs: Near death inducing spin class
Fri: 5km treadmill and core / weights.
Determined to keep things fresh this year, and so 2 more weeks of this pattern, then I'm going to change the exercises before I get bored and lazy.
Activation exercises = stuff designed to ensure that the muscles around my knee fire correctly, ie; at the right time, in the right order in order to protect my damaged knees.
Or alternatively - an excuse to not do so much work as I'm doing rubbish gym stuff
LOL @ excuse thing. I certainly don't do that whilst balancing on a Bosu ball, or when doing sowm wierd kneeling kick things to fire the glutes.
Did feck all at the weekend apart from watch TV, but did go to spin this morning. Having said that it was a crap class and I didn't feel as though I'd been working all that hard. Can't see me having lost any weight by tomorrow
my beer intake and chinese and things to prevent my aches from coming off the bike isn't going to help this week..............or the fact I will have to curtail training a bit to recover..............
maybe this should become a cutback week for exercise and just accept a weight gain

Aye, that's why I ditched pretty early as I didn't want to push it. Felt a bit tender yesterday during spin if I'm honest. I'm back at the specialist in a fortnight and so I'll give it until then and if it's not sorted ask for an amputation.
Well the pain is actually on the inside not the outside where the op was.
Still haven't lost a single pound since Christmas....the wierd thing is that my weight normally fluctuates by a pound or so but since I've been trying to drop a few pounds, it has been rock steady....strangely I seem to be a little slimmer.....
Oh well, Thai meal tonight so that won't help!!!!
EDIT: I also have a bit of an injury so I could be on the naughty step next week.....
Funny, I was just looking down the list and read a few of the kgs as lbs before gasping! 7kg is a lot to lose in a month.
I didn't post last week cos I didn't lose but I'm hoping to get a bit off this week. Done no training and been ill but haven't eaten much either, so fingers crossed.
actually since some time before Christmas - yes, due to increased training, cutting out drinking wine every day, and change in medication. Hoping it continues for a little while although I think it's started to stabilize now. Can't pinpoint when it started because I don't often weigh myself, just stepped on the scales today because I read this thread! I'm wearing clothes that still didn't fit at the end of last year.
got to work out how to explain to the physio tomorrow about my busted knee.....( I can hide the arm and shoulder injuries).........he hadn't told me that I could start cycling again............but I felt that I had to start and to be fair in the last fortnight the cycling didn't affect my achillies at all so I was right......................until I fell off on Sunday at speed............now its painful to do the exercises the physio gave me and can't go swimming yet

Aye, that's why I ditched pretty early as I didn't want to push it. Felt a bit tender yesterday during spin if I'm honest. I'm back at the specialist in a fortnight and so I'll give it until then and if it's not sorted ask for an amputation.
Well the pain is actually on the inside not the outside where the op was.

Still haven't lost a single pound since Christmas....the wierd thing is that my weight normally fluctuates by a pound or so but since I've been trying to drop a few pounds, it has been rock steady....strangely I seem to be a little slimmer.....
Oh well, Thai meal tonight so that won't help!!!!
EDIT: I also have a bit of an injury so I could be on the naughty step next week.....
Funny, I was just looking down the list and read a few of the kgs as lbs before gasping! 7kg is a lot to lose in a month.
I didn't post last week cos I didn't lose but I'm hoping to get a bit off this week. Done no training and been ill but haven't eaten much either, so fingers crossed.
got to work out how to explain to the physio tomorrow about my busted knee.....( I can hide the arm and shoulder injuries).........he hadn't told me that I could start cycling again............but I felt that I had to start and to be fair in the last fortnight the cycling didn't affect my achillies at all so I was right......................until I fell off on Sunday at speed............now its painful to do the exercises the physio gave me and can't go swimming yet
