My weigh in is tomorrow...........exercise has increased this week but so has the amount of bread i have eaten................I seem to be eaten bread as often as I'm breathing
No D74............I didn't mean it like that................I think its one of the best food around apart from too much salt in it.............
But I mean for some reason i'm eating well over half a loaf of the stuff a day ...............and like everything it should be moderation...................
Its great but not when I'm having massive chunks covered in butter and then ham etc.......................I always eat a lots of the stuff but for some reason I'm stuffing it down my face as if its going out of fashion............
Seren, just a thought, but as you are training more, your desire for carbs is likely to increase. Remember, you are also excercising so loosing extra salt through sweating. If you're worried about eating too much bread because of the salt content then I'd add other carbs into your diet to compensate.
I really wouldn't worry about having a bit too much salt from bread if the rest of your diet is balanced. It's really not going to make a lot of difference unless you have a specific health problem.
Just spotted this thread can I join the gang?, I am now taking my running (and diet) more seriously but need to lose a fair bit, at least another 2st, have been watching the cals since the new year when I weighed in at 200lbs (although I am 5'10"), my aim is 147lbs and at the moment I am 187lbs so not doing too bad, running is now up to 30 miles a week, training for a half amarthon in April to keep me motivated and focussed on the running (rather than doing it to lose weight)
5'10 and 147 lbs sounds a little underweight to me Rach.
I do have plenty of carbs as well and not sure why I crave bread so much.......but not too worried as I have to feed this training regime but need to get the balance right for the scales to keep slowly moving downwards......

To be honest my first aim is to get down to 168lbs asap, the rest can come off as slow as it likes then.

I suspect that like me you will stop when you feel right or your body will stop losing.
147 isn't way under on the BMI, so it depends on the specific physique of the person. Some people (male and female) naturally carry more muscle, some are naturally leaner. Either way 147lb is within the 'mainstream' BMI, although towards the lower end.
But low weight does not always mean faster. You may well want to be low fat, but that isn't the same as low weight. I was much faster at running, (and cycling) when I put on half a stone of muscle, my physique is such that I benefited from the extra strength rather than the lower weight leading to lower 'work' requirements.

D74 yes I want to be more low fat than low weight, weight is just a number at the end of the day, when I was 10st 12 before, my periods stopped and my GP told me to put on half a stone, she actually weighed me as she didn't believe me when I told her what I weighed (I think she thought I was vastly underweight or something), anyway, to cut a long story short, I didn't stop after gaining the 7lbs!!! hence why I'm trying to lose it again! trouble is I still have tree trunk legs at 11 and a half stone! having said that, I wasn't running the distances I do now so perhaps when I lose the weight this time I should naturally tone up better? I don't know
how many years did it take to put on the weight. does weight really ahve that much to do with periods?
anyways, claire is 5 ft 9 and generally around 130lbs and healthy.
2lbs off again. pleased that holiday food is outta my system and a bit of weightloss as well. still annoyed at 208lbs is good news, should never have let my weight balloon like this.

What is it with the ladies of this forum and the TMI If it carries on at this rate then I will post every time I get an unexplianed semi or the need to scratch my nuts.
With me then I can do as much cycling as I like and never lose an ounce, all that happens is my calves end up being the same size as the kebab shop at opening time on a Friday night. I need to run to be able to lose any weight.

i'm 5ft 9, think i worked about my approx ideal weight is 153. so it does sound a little light although i'm a bloke.
still, i was 148lbs when i was 18. i can't think of any reason to any heavier than i was at 18 although i'm happy to be put right.

What is it with the ladies of this forum and the TMI If it carries on at this rate then I will post every time I get an unexplianed semi or the need to scratch my nuts.
With me then I can do as much cycling as I like and never lose an ounce, all that happens is my calves end up being the same size as the kebab shop at opening time on a Friday night. I need to run to be able to lose any weight.
