Pirate spotted at mile 25 on Liverpool marathon yesterday. I was at mile 18 on the other side of the road. I shouted and was acknowledged. This person must have done about 3.10 to 3.15. My legs died and I finished in 4.55 Well I was at the end.
You were looking good. I must admit I found it hard coming down James Street to see the first few people at the finish line just 200m away when I still had about 9 to go!! Yeah it's a good few years since I last ran the L'pool half but don't remember it being that bad. I'm going back years though so can't remember if iyt was at the start. One year it started at Canning Place and finished in Sefton Park ( so near the beginning ) however I'm sure I ran it once when it started and finished in sefton park thus making the run up there near the end. Which ever it is a leg sapper!!
You are right, checked with Steve who denied it and said he had not seen anyone wearing one in our hood. Was it possibly Shaz79 who had the bike accident earlier in the year, she is local.

Spotted a pirate (or rather a winter buff) at the Beachy Head marathon start yesterday, yhen got overtaken by someone else weaing a pirate summer buff later on
Toucs and I were indeed at Beachy. Didn't manage to spot a single pirate though apart from FB and Petal who were thoughtful enough to stand still at a recognised point until we hugged them ;0)
Dammit Cat, I was just about to post that I'd spotted you! To be fair, you were easier to spot - it's morning like this that the Pirate bike jacket is made for!
I was getting very cold very quickly after the finish, or I'd have gone back down the line to say hi. As it was, the baggage tents were across in a field which was getting muddier by the minute.
Cat - T'was me. I did hear the arrrrgghh but was too late to arrgggh back! Got a few "Go Pirates" on the way round which always makes a huge difference.
rain and mud made it an interesting half......still haven't really dried out and warmed yet.
Anyone doing the Reading Half in March? If so I am running the 1:55 pace team so feel free to come and join me at the party end of the pack. Can't wear the yellow and black as we are sponsored but even so should be fun.
i thought i spotted a pirate buff today near abergavenny......they were going very fast and I believe it was a female rider.......so probably IronPingu.i shouted pirtae but we had already passed each other........i had taken my buff off so my only pirate feature was my water bottle..........
Oh! Apart from the very fast bit yes that was probably me. If it was heading back to Aber then there was a fab tail wind . Were you in a group? There were so many cyclist out today, packs, singles, bikes everywhere!

That was me Chilliboy ! Wasnt that hill a bugger ? No issue on the half when we run it - but put it that far into the marathon and its a bit evil.

Well done on finishing !

I spotted a Pirate on Box Hill today in the cafe. At least I assume he was a pirate from his two PSOF waterbottles.
