Cool! Which plan are you following? I'm using the 'Just finish' programme, as realistically, that's what i'm aiming for! My three goals for IMR are: 1) get to the start, having successfully completed the training; 2) make the cut-offs! and 3) enjoy it

if I can do those three things, i'll be very happy indeed.

Although, I am looking just(!) to finishing it, I am following the Competitive Plan (with a few ammendments) but mainly just because the volume suited me more. I lose confidence very quickly so I need to be training as much as possible.

I don't know if I should be doing Bala with the aim of improving last year's time or doing it at IM pace as preparation.

Still haven't actually entered Bala yet, due to Christmas bills, Outlaw entry and Gym membership renewel, I hoping I should be okay to enter in February.

Hahahaha, I KNEW you wouldn't be able to resist the lure of the Iron-distance race this year Ridgeback! I should have put money on it, and that might have paid for Bala

Speaking of which, I have run out of cheques, so will have to wait until I get a new book sent through. It is probably for the best though, because I checked my bank today, and was horrified to find i'm about £400 short of where I thought I should be, so can't afford entry this month anyway, arggggggg. Hopefully it won't be full by February!

The feet will sort them selves out Max....... although this week has been particulary bad!! Have to stay positive

I've entered IMR with everyone else on here by the looks of it and will hopefully do the same halfs i did this year in the build up to Outlaw, which will be

May - Beaver Half
June - Bala Half
July - Cowman Half
August - IMR
September - Vitruvuan

If it aint't broke don't fix it is my method this year, but with loads more bike work!!

Evening all!

I've binned Ironman plan for 2011 - recovery from foot surgery nowhere near as speedy s I hoped & I'm just getting back into things after 3 months off & it's feels like starting from scratch!

Anyway this is now on my list - it'll fit in nicely & get my fitness up before I head to the alps at the end of June

Ditto AC, love to do it but they don't half start adding up. There's middle distance in July with sea swim that I've got my eye on, not sure I can justify Bala too .....

I bought a mahoosive new sleeping bag after that trip, and every time i've used it since, it has been too warm, and I have to use it like a duvet, hehehehe.

That was the coldest May night for 10 years!!! I've still got the frostbite scars....

Nope, no way to pay by credit card, it's cheque or BACS only!!

I've printed the form out but like i've said until there's cash available it's on the back burner!!
