gastank - your swimming is too good for this thread anyway.
Soupy, as I am sure many a man has heard before on this thread, I think this statement captures it best.... "it's not about the speed, it's about being able to go the distance..."
Podds - don't know what it was like round your way but it was pretty windy round here. I found it tough going too this morning. Did 35 miles and legs didn't really want to know - partly due to no long rides for the past 2/3 weeks due to the weather, probably not helped further by recovering from my cycle commute yesterday. At least we got out there! And as you say (or as Yazz did!) 'the only way is up'.
On another bright-side, appears I managed to dodge the rain by about 30 minutes too! Tipping it down now.
Back to training later after a 2 day migraine! I found a hill around the corner, so am stupidly planning to run up and down it for half an hour, either before or after I test out my new turbo trainer set-up (I've put a little table in the basement ready to house my laptop and speakers to keep me going) Nice and sunny here today, but live in a city and nervous about getting lost!
Mixed week for me. Hardly anything done in the week and tried to run and cycle long at the weekend.
Run is getting better. Did 9 miles at an average pace of 10:45 miles with a 9 min walk and 1 min walk from the start. Last time I did that far (end of Dec I think) the pace was 11:00 min miles.
On the bike yestererday and I did my longest ever ride at 3:30 hours. My pace dropped back from the last couple of weeks and birthday beers the night before certainly didnt help.
Aiming for consistency this week. No excuses, kids are back in school and work looks sensible.
crap two weeks for me really...back playing up as always but saw the chiropractor friday and feeling better now.....build has started...but i've not.....will be reet
I've not done anything this last 4 days. Been a bit pre-occupied with a formal grievance that I've had to submit at work. I've re-done it about 10 times and its finally done at 9 pages. Emailed off so just got to wait for the fall-out now. A good bit of training is just what I need to take my mind of it I reckon. Swim lesson tomorrow. I like my swim lessons.
eesh that doesnt sound so good Soups.. hope it all works out ok... Training is always a welcome diversion from all the crap life has to throw at you.... unless of course as in AndyB's case the crap that life throws actually prevents the training .. (hope your back gets sorted mate).
Have had to come to Prague for a couple of days for work.. just been out for a wander and accross from the hotel.. a TRI shop ... i'm taking it as a sign that i should buy something
I've got another job application in just in case this grievance backfires. It would be twice as far to cycle and has a swimming pool on site - sounds perfect!

Cool there are some right nice pubs to the right of the castle near the parliment buildings and embassies if any good it's far enouther away from the torist's for the prices to be normal and not need a morgage for every meal.
I weekend without significant social distraction so noooo excuses not to train. I am contemeplating my first group ride with a local tri club on Sunday. Very scared
Well, I have another 10 days before the specialists tell me whether I'll ever be able to run again - and I've got my goal for 2013! It's just been announced that Challenge Roth, my very favourite long triathlon, will be the European long course championship next year, so all being well, that's where I'll be next summer. Fingers and toes crossed.

Good grief. I have lost the functionality to edit........ my ability to write and spell exposed to all!
I am looking to get one but there seem to be about half a dozen different types........I think I was leaning towards the road version but any advice / comments gratefully received
I have an Adamo saddle. It's great! With out going into too much gory detail it has made a world of difference - I refer anybody to the "Massacre in the Lady Garden Thread" !!!!

Yep MovingAlong - windy here too - but I sometimes think that's the default weather round here!
Rain not reached us yet but it's looking murky....
Roll on those long hot sunny days.........................
Tipping it down here. I was going to mention the wind too Podds, makes it much harder work.
gastank - there was a in my comment you know!

Sea Biscuit, great idea on the turbo table.
I've had a good 2 weeks, in terms of fitting all the sessions in, don't think I've missed any
Just cut short this weekends long ride though, as I got a bit scared of too much ice on roads
Take care Andy.

It's not all glamourous. The posh hotel my colleague booked for last night only had a 9m pool. Good job I was taking it easy!
Then a £2.50 charge to deliver our beer to our table from the bar!
Hooray its Friday.

leave the list fairy alone - she is essential
anyway, go have fun Muffin.......our tri clubhave fast and less fast rides -
the less fast rides are pretty friendly, and you dont get left behind.......
The fast rides on the other hand........ you need to know your way home
I am they will look after you
OC - was it your OH who had an adamo saddle?
I am looking to get one but there seem to be about half a dozen different types........I think I was leaning towards the road version but any advice / comments gratefully received
My bike gyres are flat, so goin to attempt my first inner tube change today..
Do you guys train with a cold? I've had a terrible one for a few days now, and don't know if I should be taking it easy or ignoring it..?
And lastly, does anyone have their eye on any of next year's events yet?
Would recommend it!!
