"I've never been called a tart before! How very rude..."
I've called you a tart loads of times - you mean you don't listen to me?? I'm very hurt!!
Although I must confess, the new bike I needfor IM Nice, which will be purchased as soon as the 2014 models are out (bike number 5) will have Di2s Now that is tarty, but I've wanted some every since we saw that MacLaren Specalized at the bike show (need? want? - same thing)
And macscully - welcome to the mad house - I somehow think you might just fit it!!
Frag, it's this. I did it a couple of years ago, mostly great fun but I think I'll leave it to Gas and co. to get cold, wet, muddy and bruised. I'm happy to wait in the beer tent.
I've gone and entered the Anglian 2014. My local long distance tri. I don't really have a clue what i'm doing. I've swam the distance before (in a pool) although I've not done much open water swimming but guess that will be fine. I've run 20 marathons and a few shorter ultras so the run should be OK. I'm a rubbish cyclist though.
I've got Suffolk coastal ultra next week (33 miles) and am doing brighton marathon. There's 16 weeks after brighton until the Anglian so the plan was to swim once a week and get on the turbo once a week up until brighton. Then drop 80% of the running and become a cyclist for 16 weeks. Think it might work?
Swim and bike twice a week and I think you might be on to something...
Then hit openwater as soon as the season starts! Dont underestimate the bike its the longest part and need to build a base, of which just sitting on the fekkin thing for 6 hrs is an endurance even im its own right!
Good luck Spoons! I did the Anglian this year, loved it!
Good luck with the CTS next week too, I'm doing the 10k because I missed out on entries for the half or full marathon! (Not quite crazy enough to do an ultra just yet)
GoGo negotiations with OH have started... currently in for Thanet duathlon and Surrey 1/2 marathon. On wish list Vachary 1/2, cotswolds 1/2 or full... lets see. Master plan is IM South Africa 2015
Pretty sure we have met, started the ride 100 with you for HF? Power bell alarm thing on your bike???
Hi your desire to now do an Ironman is inspiring in itself. Thanks for sharing your journey with us As you build up your fitness and interest in doing more, remember that spending time and energy on building your ‘inner game’ -- the mental strength and emotional endurance needed — is just as powerful as all your physical training. You can accelerate your gains, success, enjoyment and fulfilment MASSIVELY by sharpening your focus, purpose and response to adversity (that is bound to come up!). I keep trying to talk sarah into doing it you never know I might actually join you there next year.
*waves* to Macscully
Go on Ultra Bookie, you know you want to.
I just found my race pics from 2011. The smile has to be hysteria, or maybe it was frozen in place by that point
looks far too damn cold for me Nursey, sure Gas and his mates will have great fun - and the beer tent will be the place to be
Evening all

Iron budgie - ultras are easy. Just a long easy day out!
think I might need to bike / swim more. My concern is dropping too much running before Brighton. I was hoping run fitness my get me through....
Just been to see Cirque du Soleil. Amazing. For some strange reason, I'm feeling the need to do some core work .......
Could be worse .. could be running away to join the circus!
As the tattooed lady?
tattoos.... might get one
A butterfly, or maybe a dolphin, would look lovely on you
Yes dear
Just been out for a run with Chrissie and am feeling invigorated (and sweaty and breathless)
That's a bit cruel - tattooing a dolphin on your pet cow!
Gas - after Henley I had the challenge heart logo - but girlified with flowers in it and swirly bits

WOW! And you're going to do all that for all of us for free? What a guy.
Bit late to the party. The Fatmen (and Fatburds) have this iron malarkey well and truly nailed. We're already legends
See you've spamming pther threads your approach is ill considered and unwelcome
You would have been better to get to know us perhapd then post your thread ONCE and only once we knew a little more about you
Instead youve taken the door to door vacuum salesman approach and come across as a...
Please peddle your wares on Tripe Talk and perhaps try a different approach before they tear you limb from limb
