Sooo my mate Flowerpower is a GP if she writes me a letter and i pay for a day licence i am in?
yep that should work...
When we did the Paris marathon this year we needed doctors notes, and they had to be on headed paper, with the words copied from the web site and not just signed by the Doc but also stamped with the surgery details and stamped with the Docs name and GMC number.
And of course at registration they hardly bothered to look

get her to fill in the form that yu can download and yes, you're good to go.
to clear up any residual confusion - if you are a member of the BTF then this allows you to race in any other member country of the ETU (European Triathlon) without the need to provide a medical certificate PROVIDED that the race you are entertng is being run under that country's triathlon federation rules. it's a reciprocal agreement that all member countries of the ETU recognise your national federation membership as giving you a valid race licence if racing under local country rules.
BUT, if racing in France and the event ISN'T being run under FFTri rules, you MAY need a med cert (event website will tell you). it may be different in other countries as, for example, you do not need a med cert to race any event in the UK if not a native of these shores whether the event is under BTF rules or not.
the French are probably the most rigorous when applying the med cert rules, but I think Germany, Switzerland and Austria also insist on med certs where required under local law.
I have already committed to Lanzarote 2014 and Challenge Vitoria 2014 (my hometown). I had a previous big race booked for July 2013 else I would have raced there this year itself. This means I will not be able to line up with you guys
Excellent, as I remember the flights are out on Thurs back Tues which were perfect in 2008. The airport in Nice is close to the center of town (you run out to it 4 times!). Nice is not far from Italy so plenty of pasta restaurants in the old town, (you don't have to eat poncey french food).
Oh for pity's sake, why did I have to go and find this forum...??? Prior to finding this forum I was intending to make Olympics my standard distance. Then I read a book by someone called ironholgs which lead me here and I convinced myself that I was going to do the 2014 Outlaw. Now I have seen this thread and pondered over it for the past couple of days...
And I'm in
I just need to find some bloody big hills now to train on

Sounds like an BTF license is the way to go then
Just what i was thinking
The Scottish ones are 10 quid cheaper than the English ones!!
club membership reduces membership costs, as does being a BTF official..
when you combine club and offical discounst together, membership was very little...

Good choice Barley!

Were gonna need a bigger boat!
Trust me .. this is still a fairly small outing in comparison to recent years
Quality not quantity
Including relay teams there were nearly 100 at Outlaw last year, im guessing we'll get up to around 50 for France?
I think Outlaw was the biggest turnout ever?
I think it was
GG
hills are overrated
